  4. Courtesy of TheTVMadman, more vintage WITI with SIX is NEWS from 1996. And news teasers with the late Vince Gibbens from 1995.
  5. IIRC, KTBC and KVUE used to have a news chopper in the mid-late 80s, while KXAN and KEYE had their news chopper in the mid 90s. KXAN was the last station to shelved the news chopper in late 2005 or 2006. http://tvradio.blog.austin360.com/2015/01/08/tbt-austins-news-chopper-war/
  6. San Francisco's KRON 4 has found its new main anchor. Former NECN anchor Steve Aveson is joining KRON 4 News as primary anchor with co-anchor Pam Moore. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/4/29/kron-names-new-anchor

  12. I know I supposed to post vintage news opens and newscasts pre-2000, but I found some that might be news related. I found a 1988 episode of $100K Pyramid from 1988 when local news anchor Eric Greene (WUAB/WOIO anchor Now at WEEK) was a contestant on the classic game show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycaZD5ZM-a4
  13. Found one clip of WITI from 1996.
  14. D/FW's TV critic Ed Bark has an op-ed about the Tegna buyout. http://unclebarky.com/dfw.html
  15. IIRC, Mark Wright used to anchor evenings and moved to mornings over at Q13 (KCPQ).
  16. One more note. Tegna is NOT selling WFAA either. And that goes for all the Tegna stations as well.
  17. Someone need to get this through his head. WFAA will NOT; I repeat WILL NOT lose the ABC affiliate, Period!
  18. Former KVUE (ABC 24) and KEYE (CBS 42) anchor Judy Maggio has an op-ed about the trouble with Tegna. https://judymaggio.wordpress.com/2016/04/16/the-trouble-with-tegna/
  19. I would be very surprised if Dan Lewis joins KING 5 as their main anchor.
  20. If I'm right, they're now nine TV Tegna stations hit with buyouts.
  21. The buyouts keep on coming and going. First Austin (KVUE), Houston (KHOU), Minneapolis (KARE), Norfolk (WVEC), Corpus Christi (KIII), Atlanta (WXIA), Grand Rapids (WZZM), now add Louisville (WHAS) to the list. Melissa Swan of Kentuckiana's ABC affiliate is retiring. 23. Turmoil at KVUE (ABC 24). The GM's out, the news director's out, the main anchor is out, now the chief meteorologist. What the hell is going on at KVUE?! They must be cleaning house or what!
  24. First the GM is leaving, then Tyler Sieswerda is leaving as well, and now the news director? What the H is going on at KVUE?
  25. There's soon going to be an anchor change in Cleveland's WEWS ABC 5. IT'S NO APRIL FOOL'S JOKE! It's not a done deal, but word is that Sports Director/Anchor Rob Powers of New York's WABC-TV is heading to Cleveland to succeed Chris Flanagan who's contract is not renewed. Powers who was hired at ABC flagship station in New York worked in Ohio before, he was the 5:30PM news anchor and 6 & 11PM sports anchor at WTVG in Toledo. WEWS can't say on Flanagan's future with the station, but look for something soon. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/4/1/wabc-sports-anchor-heading-to-cleveland-for-news
