Very sad news to report, this one from Savannah, GA. WTOC 11 News anchor Mike Manhatton died last night from complications of cancer. Mike worked at the Savannah CBS affiliate for 33 years - a phenomenal reporter and a dedicated anchorman. All of us at TVNT want to offer our prayers and condolences to Mike Manhatton's family and the entire staff of WTOC 11 News. Just in to TVNT courtesy of TVspy, Craig Setzer has been officially named Chief Meteorologist for Miami's WFOR CBS 4. Setzer has been with WFOR-TV for 14 years, and he'll continue working on the 5, 6 & 11PM newscasts.

Remember I told you last night about Gloria Campos retiring from WFAA, well we now know who will succeed Gloria's seat. Courtesy of friends at TVspy WFAA made it official that News 8 Daybreak and rotating midday anchor Cynthia Izaguirre will take the helm at 5 & 10pm starting March 10th. Shelly Slater will now add the 4pm solo anchoring duties, she'll remain co-anchor of the 6pm newscasts. and Jason Wheeler will be moved back to the weekend evening newscasts in the first weekend in March. No official replacement named for co-anchor of News 8 Daybreak for now, will keep you posted.

BREAKING NEWS: Gloria Campos is retiring from WFAA in 2 1/2 weeks. Gloria mad the announcement on her twitter site. "It's OFFICIAL!! Retiring from News 8 Fri March 7th! Stay tuned for more exciting announcements! 10pm 3/7/2014 will be my last newscast. " Gloria has been with WFAA for 30 amazing years and she will be dearly missed.

Chuck Gaidica announce today that he'll step down after 27 years as Chief Meteorologist at Detroit's WDIV-TV. Morning news anchor Mark Hayes has left KXAS NBC 5. After over a year or so at NBC 5; Hayes as parted ways with the NBC O&O. Hayes joined KXAS after a decade with WAGA FOX 5. His bio has been removed. Stefanie Bryant has joined Shreveport's KTAL NBC 6 as the new morning anchor. Bryant came to KTAL from Little Rock's KTHV as a weekend anchor and reporter. Anne Craig will succeed Sonia Baghdady's 5, 5:30 & 11pm anchor position at Hartford's WTNH ABC 8, while Ali Reed will take the helm as morning anchor for Good Morning Connecticut. Former FOX News reporter Scott Brown has returned to Buffalo and he'll be the new Investigative reporter at Buffalo's WGRZ NBC 2. And finally Charleston's WCHS ABC 8 is finally adding a early evening newscast. WCHS will launch a weekday 5pm newscast stating next week (1/13), An hour of Judge Judy will move to 4-5pm next week. Lots of coming and goings courtesy of TVspy: Former KDAF anchor Amanda Salinas will be joining KTBC FOX 7 as anchor of Good Day Austin and FOX 7 news at Noon. Salinas debut at FOX 7 is in two weeks (1/20). Former WCNC NBC Charlotte anchor Dion Lim is heading to Tampa Bay's 10 News (WTSP) as 5:00 & 5:30pm anchor and 11:00pm reporter. Lim first day is in three weeks (1/27). Meteorologist Katy Morgan, formerly at WXIX is now heading to Music City (Nashville) to be Chief Meteorologist at WZTV FOX 17. Longtime WTOL 11 News anchor Chrys Peterson will be leaving the station to spend more time with her family. Peterson's final newscast will be on February 28th. WOOD-TV 8 anchor Susan Shaw will leave the 11pm newscast to spend more time with family; Shaw will continue to anchor 24 News 8 from 5:00-6:30pm and she'll be anchoring the midday news at noon, Marlee Ginter will take the helm as anchor of 24 Hour News 8 at 10pm (WXSP) and 11pm (WOOD). And WISH-TV 8 will be expanding its sister station's 10pm news tonight, 24 Hour News 8 at 10PM will run from 10:00 to 11:00pm on WNDY (MyIndyTV).

It is very difficult to me that we're ending the final weekend of 2013 on a somber note. It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that I report to you that San Diego broadcaster Loren Nancarrow, the longtime weatherman from KFMB and KGTV and news anchor at KSWB FOX 5 died yesterday. Nancarrow passed away just after 6:30pm surrounded by his family and friends. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in February, Nancarrow was 60 years old. All of us at TVNT offer our thoughts, prayers and condolences to Loren Nacarrow's beloved wife Susie, his three adorable children and to Nancarrow's extended TV family at KFMB CBS 8, KGTV ABC 10, and KSWB FOX 5.
