There's a lot of little hints of the Ballys/FanDuel gfx package. I'm curious to know if these will be the new FDSN package. Makes no sense in creating a new package for Gray... plus they won't even be producing the telecasts .

It won't be "Bally Sports" after the baseball season ends.
I know wouldn't happen, but it would be hilarious if it became ESPN Bet Sports
(I'm sure Barstool or Pointsbet is the next one to chase for naming rights, honestly).
It'll probably have something tying it Amazon. Prime Sports? Amazon Sports? etc. They're not investing all that money to be a silent investor.

D'Backs sticking with MLB to produce/distribute their telecasts.
MLB will also produce & distribute select Spring Training & regular season games for the Padres & Rockies this season. These ventures will be branded with MLB's .TV moniker... i.e. Padres.TV/Rockies.TV/Dbacks.TV
MLB has hinted at plans to bring their own league-controlled DTC venture which would take over the television distribution rights for at least a dozen teams in 2025. This is expected to occur once the television rights of clubs affiliated with Bally Sports are reverted back to their respective teams.

The bare bones temp set actually looks more up to date than the outgoing set.
This IG post gives a view of the anchors. Looks as if they’re using an old desk from KSWB.
I wonder if they're using the upstairs setup that KSWB when the current set was built? The textured wall panels were also from KSWB's previous set.

Now, how would that even be possible? MLB Network is a PAY TV channel, so it’d be near impossible to make a local version of the channel.
Well, what San Diego and Arizona have with MLB is still a pay tv channel. Nothing has changed there except who's running it (and that its no longer a 24/7 channel).
Who knows if MLB even has an appetite to make games available OTA- for free. Obviously they won't be able to command high sub fees but can get something in return to the clubs and tie-in any carriage deals to the main network. This off season will determine what the future is with MLB and broadcasting locally. They did not exactly create this in-house media department just to be used for less than one season. There must be more to this than meets the eye...

I'm sure MLB is going to push hard to get them to join the MLB Local bandwagon. Considering the other two MLB takeovers are in the National League West, it makes sense for Colorado to join the pack.
Makes me wonder if MLB is considering making local off-shoot of MLB Network for these cities to supply content and have a full time channel for the teams? MLB Network San Diego/Arizona?

KGTV did a poor job on that half hour special. It seemed like it was about Kimberly Hunt special and only 1 min bit of the previous on air talents which they did poorly on.
Totally agree. Sadly, there really aren't that many on-air talent left that even remotely have the connection/association with the KGTV of the late 80s-early 00s when they were on top of their game.
This whole celebration seems like it was done in haste and on the cheap. Let's get a couple of sound bites, some b-roll and a few cheap decorations/logos and call it a day.

Clearly they never bothered to fix the Twitter feed on the right side as it has tweets from 2019 embedded on there...
Hmm, the two former anchors suing the station, front and center...

Kinda curious to see what will happen editorially with KUSI. Will the current mgmt from KSWB allow them to continue with their slanted perspective & the reporters/anchors making themselves part of the story with opinions (i.e. Dan Plante), or have them tone it down?
Seems like KUSI is already operating with a bare-bones on-air staff, so I doubt they'll make cuts there.

Can't see how Paul Rudy, Mark Mathis and Logan Byrnes fit in long term when Nexstar comes in. They're probably making decent money and their positions become redundant when trying to slash costs.
Assuming KSWB's staff stays in place, it'll be dejavu for Elizabeth Alvarez and Misha DiBono in their return to the KUSI building.

KSWB has a much larger and more modern plant overall and there's been stories out there about how KUSI's shared building (it has another tenant but it looks like the other part is vacant) needs severe maintenance. There's two miles and roads between each studio, so there's not much complication to merging them together.
I just can't picture Nexstar being able to fit both operations at either location unless they were to expand the building. If they're going to keep both entities as a semi-separate operation, then they would be wise to start looking at other places they could purchase/remodel.
Either way you slice it, any move(s) Nexstar makes will come with backlash from KUSI's audience. The channel has a niche audience that is not sustainable on it's own. They do run a pretty lean operation there, so any efficiencies will probably be minimal.
The biggest question will be: will they completely dismantle the anchor teams or shift them to different hours as to not compete with FOX 5?

They've been playing some new music on the spring training telecasts, and the only remnant of the MLB on FOX theme is down to the very short open. Hopefully they go with a high quality look- graphics wise.

Are we shocked that this is happening? I'd been checking his socials for an imminent announcement of the sort and finally, here it is. The moment they omitted Dan from the press release celebrating Michaela's arrival at Fox was the moment I knew Dan was certainly headed out. And now it's been confirmed. In three years, his time at Fox 11 has certainly seemed very disappointing -- coming from KSWB probably wanting to retire at Fox 11 as the evening anchorman, but then being quickly demoted to mornings, and now leaving. He mentions a "new adventure on the horizon" but I'm really curious where he could possibly be heading in such a crowded market (of course unless he moves somewhere again). Good for him for choosing to spread positivity in his farewell post, though.
He came to FOX 11 from KFMB, not KSWB. He's a good anchor and reporter, but I never really saw his appeal as the top anchor.
When he left KFMB, they were doing very well in the mornings, his co-anchor Nichelle Medina was let go a few months after Dan left. I'm sure it was difficult for him to achieve the same chemistry/friendship at Fox 11, that he had with Nichelle for the 15 years they anchored together.
Let's see what he ends up doing next...

True but had the Royals been thinking this through and foresaw the fact that YouTube TV and other local cable companies (not all of them) would drop FSKC that would've signaled the Royals to sign elsewhere if they wanted to get as close to full coverage as they can especially with MLB being so relunctant to ending local in-market blackouts for their own services such as MLB TV.
It is easier said than done. The teams don't want the hassle of negotiating directly with video providers, hence why the RSN/Parent company handles that .
Also, the team can request that the RSN make as many deals possible with all parties involved, but ultimately that responsibility lies with the RSN. If the team is so adamant to have its games widely available, and the video providers are not on-board 100% with the fees being charged, then one side will have to give in. Will the team/RSN accept a lower payment in exchange for distribution, or will the video provider decline to pay for the channel? There's not gray area-- they either air the games or they don't.
Also, a majority of the sports teams have an equity stake in the RSN's. No matter how bad things get, don't expect them to magically disappear and have all content migrate strictly to online platforms.

Seems like they may be going in the lifestyle direction with this broadcast. I just saw a commercial with Shawn Styles promoting a regular cooking segment he's gonna be doing for the show. Also, I need to make a correction. The show will be done with Heather Myers, not Barbara Lee... Seems like a long day for Heather unless she will be leaving mornings...
Well, they cut the 4:30am newscast, so that's one less thing for Heather to do, theoretically.
My guess is that she'll still contribute to the 11am/Noon shows, and gets bumped off mornings. Seems like Neda has been filling in the weather anchor/fill-in anchor role pretty frequently, so she can easily slide in to fill Heather's spot.
The Tegna influence has been slow to creep in, compared to other stations in the group. Honestly, I was expecting them to do some kind of lifestyle show sooner, rather than later.
Let's see what else they do. A new set, perhaps? They are overdue for one...

They were originally going to have a 4pm newscast when they acquired the CW affiliation but that never came to fruition. I'm curious to see what kind of format this show will take, and if they're going to start using the CBS 8 logo more instead of the NEWS 8 logo.
Seems like they also dropped the 4:30am newscast, i'm sure it was to accommodate the noon newscast.

So it seems like they're very slowly de-emphasizing the FOX Sports brand on air. Some of the graphics (Top/Bottom inning recap/L3's) are not showing FOX [team logo] on them.
Also heard a promo for college basketball but the voiceover did not say FOX Sports San Diego at the end, even though the Fox Sports logo appeared on screen.

I read a while back that at the beginning of this baseball season, FS1 was sending out their crews to the games they were airing during the middle of the week. Previously, they had relied 100% on the local FSN's infrastructure (FS1 just supplied the announcers). This was from one of the producers of FS1. The biggest challenge was trying to untangle all those synergies that FOX had created between FS1 and FSN. I'd be willing to bet that there will be a full rebrand early on in 2020. I don't think Sinclair can keep using the FOX Sports branding for too long.

It can't be any other station but KUSI. Look at what's been happening the last few months with all these sudden "departures". You have Dani Ruberti completely disappear, then Allen Denton and Carlos Amezcua "retire" and now you have Sandra shown the door.
Plus, check out FTVLive's articles on the station in the last 6-8 months or so. Take the articles with a grain of salt, but don't discount that the station is a dumpster fire

Also, the station has been going heavy on being Pro-Trump. Look over their social media accounts and see how/what they post. Every news organization should just stick to the facts and leave the liberal, conservative or any bias out of it.

Hope she lands somewhere in the SD market.
What a very ominous good-bye. WTF does she mean by the new generation arriving soon? My guess is that there are many more changes ahead. Wonder if Dave Scott is next?

When was she canned? I just saw her on Friday night anchoring. If true, it's all salary dump, like the departures of Allen and Carlos...
I don't know where else she could go in the market. The only station with an opening is KGTV.

Yeah lol...
After a good 12 years of "Stable KUSI" ...God only knows what the hell has happened inside.
Somebody must be off the meds up in the front office...or else somebody at KUSI caught Tegna Flu and now wants to upend all the "good will" that was earned over the last decade or so.
Go screw up your product...go piss-off those loyal viewers...I'm sure there is a "vision" in there somewhere.
Just what is the"real" status of Paul Rudy?
Is he a temp fill-in?...or was PPR just ripped out of his hands?
Well my guess is that they're tired of having to replace anchors on that morning show. After Stan Miller left, the AM news has gone to shit. They probably wanted a familiar face with Lauren and honestly, I do like the move. The PPR is aired on Friday's in the fall so it's conceivable that he still ends up hosting the show.
Something major must be happening inside that place. They've gone full pro-Trump. People always knew/suspected of their conservative bias, but now its pretty blatant. Also, the fact that Carlos "retired" suddenly, only to pop up hosting a show with former KUSI anchor Lisa Remillard is quite interesting.

Is there a way to remove the boxes on the right hand side of the main page (i.e: Forum Statistics, Who's online, posts?) ? Also, is there an option for a dark theme like in the previous iteration?

2025 MLB Season
in Sport Center

Looks like MLB is producing the Seattle Mariner's telecasts on Root Sports. Standard MLB Local graphics package, but ROOT Sports substituted for the MLB logo.
