As of this morning anchors are no longer social distancing and back to pre pandemic seating. That makes WABC the only station that has anchors still sitting further apart.. which if postings from the morning team are an indication that will be ending soon.

I was wondering when they would go back to normal. I thought the current anchor spacing on WABC, which is closer than it was during the pandemic, was done to leave room to display graphics on the video wall behind them?

WPIX is gone from FiOS. "Our contract with Nexstar ended on October 14, 2022 and your Fios TV package contains Nexstar channels.  We currently do not have the rights to show their programming. We are trying our best to reach a reasonable deal with Nexstar and hope Nexstar will restore its channels to our lineup soon."

I could be wrong, but I don’t think they aired this on Ch. 7 proper, just on streaming. Still, you’d think they’d at least get a better angle of the parade.

Correct, it was only streamed on abc7NY, which would explain why they did not do a full broadcast.

  4. National Dominican Day Parade broadcast on abc7NY is very odd. There are no hosts, the broadcast is one camera,  you can't see the performance stage, which is to the right of the camera, and people are standing in front of the camera.image.thumb.png.d595cd508c298360f46076314ed8b6ed.pngimage.thumb.png.42043de3fc354304965303dcbef66b31.png

  5. Checking tonight, there was 7 min of local news at the start of CBS News New York Now from Kristine Johnson in studio.

Alice Gainer did a report and it was dark outside, she said she was live, though there was no live bug on screen.

After that they went to CBS News anchor Tom Hanson. At 9:20pm they did have a local weather forecast.

Another local news update ran again around 9:34pm.

What does that mean it was done by KTXA? A station from Texas?

Yes, KTXA produced the newscast which was shown on WLNY and other sister CBS stations. This means there is no CBS2 produced newscast on WLNY at 9pm.

It’s basically the isolation cam… used when an anchor has a close exposure that requires masking at all times when around others, or when is returning to work symptom free after 5 days but before 10 days and still requires a mask.

Thanks, that was my guess for why they were using the flash cam studio. Shirleen Allicot was using it this morning. Mike was in studio.

Noticed for the noon newscast, Lauren is in studio and David looks like he's using the same alternate space that Bill Ritter used.

Odd they did not try to match the framing for both camera shots.
