  1. It seems Marquee has found a new news partner in Idaho.

Marquee Broadcasting-owned Boise Fox station KNIN has ended its news partnership with Scripps-owned KIVI. From the BoiseDev publication, it stated that its made a new agreement for Sinclair's CBS station KBOI to produce its weekday 7am & its daily 9pm broadcasts.

After the acquisition from former owner Gray, Marquee was initially planning on starting its own news operation on KNIN before deciding to partner up with KBOI.

  2. I think I mentioned this before in this forum, but since GMA3 tape its show at 10am/ET, the network DOES have an early Noon/ET feed of the program. Stations like WBRZ, KGRV, KETV and KMBC air it at 11am/CT before their Noon-casts.

WFAA could've kept their hourly Noon show instead of moving it to 11am.

I don't recall but once when Barker acknowledged Cullen at all, and that was when Cullen appeared to promote his short-lived game show Child's Play.

There was another occasion where he mentioned Cullen, during a pricing game. And that was a few years after that Cullen appearance.

  3. New petition. This station took the spectrum auction money to move to VHF-low. It now wants to go back to the "U".

Religious broadcaster in South Carolina, WGGS-TV was on RF 16 when it sold its spectrum during that auction a few years back for $44.3M. The station elected to move to VHF-low RF 2.

They've sinced filed to vacate VHF 2 for UHF 29.

    ____________________________

EDIT 9/28: Another petition from a Religious broadcaster. And its a familiar one.

Remember theDove Media? They were the owners that filed a complaint over Sinclair's KTVL move to RF 16 in Medford (which was later settled)?

Just recently, they filed a petition for a new full power allotment in nearby Jacksonville, Oregon on VHF 4. That petition was advanced today to NPRM.

    ____________________________

And let me slip this one in. A couple of weeks back (9/14), the FCC had dismissed WSWG's petition to change the city of license from Valdosta, GA to Moultrie, GA. FCC basically saying that Valdosta would lose their "first and only local TV service", even though the station said Valdosta wouldn't lose its signal.

    Here's the letter.

  4. Update regarding Channel 9 Freeport. WSLN was lit up last Friday (9/22).

Station announced that The CW, Antenna TV & Circle will move from WIFR's LP signal to the new full power signal. But in the interim they will keep those networks on both signals for a grace period.

    Quote

    WSLN

    • 19.1 - The CW (simulcast on 23.5 in the interim)
    • 19.2 - Circle (simulcast on 23.3 in the interim)
    • 19.3 - Antenna TV (simulcast on 23.2 in the interim)

    WIFR-LD

    • 23.1 - CBS
    • 23.4 - Ion
    • 23.7 - Defy TV

The station also announced that they're keeping two WIFR CBS simulcasts on WREX (23.10) & WFBN-LD (23.11) a status quo. Which I don't really understand since you now have a full power station of your own. Yeah I'm aware of the ten-year agreement. But since you now have full power stick again in the Stateline, why not end that WREX carriage deal, and move that simulcast to WSLN's subchannel? Let WREX have that chunk of spectrum to themselves.

Correction here: It will be NEW episodes. Weird considering the original series ended 7 years ago.

    From the Hollywood Reporter:

The episodes airing nationally on the network will be a mix of the show’s library and previously unseen installments taped prior to the writers and actors strikes.

  6. Former ABC News correspondent Kenneth Moton, becomes the new 6 & 11pm anchor on WTTG next Monday.

And this was announced back on Friday. But WWL has added two former Houston anchors to join their Morning show.

Former KPRC anchor Brandon Walker and former KTRK reporter/anchor Brheanna Boudreaux (fka Brhe Berry) will join Leslie Spoon & Eric Paulsen as anchors of the morning show, beginning on October 16.

The station hasn't specified the anchor assignments (which one will anchor which part of the AM broadcast, etc.). But they did add that Leslie Spoon will be the "full-time" anchor of the noon show (while still doing part of the AM show) beginning November 27.

  7. One R&O. Nearly one year after its filing, this Nebraska PBS outlet is going UHF.

This means that Flood Comm.-owned Telemundo LP KFDY-LD would have to vacate RF 27 for a new channel in Lincoln.

So when is the 10am show premiering? They swapped Tamron Hall to 2pm last week and put Rachel Ray repeats at 10am. Same this week.

No. Today's the first day Tamron is airing on the new timeslot. Tamron was on at 10am on Friday.

  9. Here's WCIU/WMEU's fall schedule.

    • New Byron Allen shows' Justice For The People s (2x) and Mathis Court (2x) will air at 1pm & 3pm, respectively. Equal Justice will air at 7am (with a 2nd airing at 7pm on WMEU (except on Thursdays)).
    • Repeats of The People's Court moves to 8am; while the Judge Mathis repeats will stay at 2pm. Second airings for both shows will air from 8-10pm on WMEU.
    • Cutlers Court will air at 7:30am (with a 2nd airing at 2:30am the next AM).
    • Court Cam (2x) will air at 6pm on WMEU.

And looking at WPWR, looks like the MyNetworkTV block will be shifted again. From 8-10pm to 10pm-Midnight.

    • The Family Feud two-hour block will be split up. The 5pm hour will be retained. But the 2nd hour will be moved to 7pm. In its place at 6pm will be airings of Person, Place or Thing and Who The Bleep Is That? (with 2nd airings for both shows at Midnight). Should've place this on the 7pm hour, IMO. If it ain't broke?.....
    • 48 Hours will air at 8pm (with another airing at 9am).

And looking at WFLD, this explains why they split Family Feud on 50.

    • 32 will air Feud on the 6pm hour to replace Big Bang. And the before-the-news Feud will move from 3pm to 2pm. TMZ Live will be the news lead-in at 3pm.
    • People Puzzler will occupy the 1pm hour.

And this should also be mention. And looking at a couple of guides, apparently 32 is replacing the 4am Good Day Wake Up for a simulcast of Fox Weather.

WEAR was probably THE very last station to do so, after WISN relented a few years back.

KOAT also had an hourly 10, and so did that Hawaii station KITV. Those two dropped theirs after WISN, and before WEAR.

Over at WEAR, It looks like the last hour-long 10:00 p.m. newscast is done.  It will now be a standard 35 minute length followed by Jimmy Kimmel "Live".

They'll also replay the 10:00 p.m. at midnight following Nightline.

An end of an era here. They were one of the last ABC affiliates not to air JKL on time....

  12. Small follow up regarding the ABC daytime changes.

Based on the guides, and watching a promo, Tamron Hall is moving to 2pm this Monday (9/4).

Rachael Ray will move back to its original timeslot at 10am for one week to wrap up the run. And that's when the stations will debut its new 10am shows the following week (9/11 on WPVI & WTVD; 9/12 on WABC).
