I'm anticipating a memorial tribute TOTH ID on Monday (possibly for the week, possible at various points during the day), something filmed to air at the top of the season premiere, and possibly a primetime special, sometime soon. As for a renaming of something, I could see them going the stage route, but unfortunately, it's not that different from the studio dedication, and simply shifting it to the new facility (in whatever form) feels like it cheapens the honor. For better or worse, Bob had zero connection to the new place. I agree that they should do SOMETHING, but I'm just not sure what.

There will be a primetime special airing Thursday night (reairing on Labor Day morning) honoring the late game show host.

There'll never be another TV giant like this one. A true legend. May he rest in peace.

Do you mean that ET is moving from WXYZ to WJBK?  It's been on WXYZ at 7:30 for as long as I can remember.

WXYZ dropped ET about a decade ago for Scripps' The List. ET was last aired on WWJ in the overnight hours.

Not sure if this has been confirmed yet, but over on another forum I found out that Entertainment Tonight apparently will take over the 2 PM timeslot on WJBK, moving over from WWJ to replace Access Hollywood.

This confirms it on the guide. With a 2nd airing at 12:30am.

I don't understand why XYZ didn't bring back ET instead of Access

WPTA has posted some changes. But I'll note three key ones:

    • Tamron Hall moves from 3pm to 10am.
    • Jennifer Hudson moves from 3pm (on NBC 21.2) to 10am (on MyNet 21.3).
    • Local lifestyle program INsider moves from 12:30pm to 3pm (expand to an hour; simulcast on 21.2).

New York 55 ("NY55") was a branding used by WLNY in its pre-CBS days, so that's going back in time.

But why not keep TV38, TXA21 and K-CAL9?

And Seattle 11, Tampa 44 and the rest (except the heritage Philly 57)? Is that the best CBS can do with these generic, cookie-cutter names?

We talked about this earlier in this thread. And I said I doubt all those stations are going to those brandings. If that was the case, then that picture above "Primetime Sacramento" we would seen "Sacramento 31", and not "KMAX 31".

That is unusual for a station in the Central time zone.  I'm sure, though, that a lot of people will be happy with the two shows on the same channel and an alternative to the news.

It's unusual but not all that rare. As WDJT & WVUE have aired J!/Wheel on the 6pm/CT hour for years.......

WPNT 22 still seems like the ultimate outcome for the CW.  On the AVS forum someone claimed they were told at the station last week that they were switching over.

I'll Believe it when I see it. It's a shame that were's just about nine days away before CBS pulling the CW from its stations and Nexstar has yet to announce which stations will get it in the four remaining markets. Including (no one mentioned it yet) Seattle.

  8. New petition. Back to the Big Sky we go......

Sinclair now wants to vacate Montana's KECI off of RF 20 for RF 21.

To recap, KECI and KTVM wanted to get off of its VHF signals (13 and 6, respectively) to move to UHF channel 20.

Remembering asking this question at the time:

On 12/2/2020 at 1:53 PM, CircleSeven said:

I'm looking at the contours of both proposed changes of KECI & KTVM in Montana. Both are asking to change to RF 20.

There's a portion where both signals will overlap.

Would it be difficult for viewers getting either one of these signals, if both are on the same frequency?

I guess they've answered my question in this engineering statement.

    Quote

The local station engineering staffs have now realized the “real-world” interference consequences of both KECI-TV and KTVM-TV operating on channel 20 will result in a significant number of persons that are predicted to receive co-cannel {sic} interference causing a greater impact than was realized at the time the original interference studies were performed when preparing the rulemaking petitions for both stations. Exhibits show that for both stations pockets of interference are scattered over significant portions of each station’s populations.

The overlapping of the signals should've been realized from the jump. Areas near the Sapphire Range and Deerlodge National Forest would've been affected.

Its The Great News Package with the Hello News Melody. WDTN Dayton used this before and so has WOKR (WHAM) Rochester and a few others, according to NMSA.

    This deserves some backtracking......

According to link below, here is the original writer/composer and singer info of the original "We're with You on 11Alive" promo campaign for Atlanta.

    Atlanta 11 Alive

    WXIA- Michael Bolton/Vivian Cherry, vocals

http://www.jaynecritelli.com/music/jingles.html - - the full length song is featured on the page.

Begs the question if Gari bought out this entire work, along with what became known now as the Great News Package, which was known as Hello News II and originally as News 88.

And there's some more discussion regarding Hello/Great News in this archived thread from that time.

    And.....seattle11.com, boston38.comflorida33.com and sacramento31.com.

I strongly doubt every station will go with these brandings. "KCAL" (& even "KCAL 9" ftm) is a stronger brand than a generic "Los Angeles 9" or "LA 9". Sad that "california9.com" was already taken.....

Sorry if I jumped the gun but all 3 stations have the same schedule…

They have the same schedule now. And WABC has been airing the Tamron Hall 2pm move promos since last week. But if Channel 7 haven't announced their 10am plans post-fall (whether its a newscast or some other program) via a promo or a press release, you can't assume that they'll have the same schedule as PVI or WTVD after September. That is clear speculation.

  12. 2 hours ago, Nelson R. said:

So is WPVI and WTVD. All 3 stations are starting a 10am news to replace Rachael Ray.

I'm surprised it won't be a 3pm newscast. If WABC wasn't already producing Kelly & Mark I'd take a lifestyle show over yet another newscast.

Have WABC or WTVD even announced they're doing a 10am newscast yet?!

Why aren't Ducis and Cecily's names included in the 11PM intro?   It's only "Action News with Rick Williams".  Most of the other daily newscasts mention the full lineup.

Within the last decade or so, the 11pm opens have always been short, so they can go straight to the "Big Story".
