The Spanish-language channels being grouped at the bottom of the list, looking more like an afterthought than anything, is almost amusing. Almost.

Yes, MUR needs to have something that's distinct from the main Hearst look used on WCVB so there isn't viewer confusion. Has been that way for 20+ years now.
WCVB and, to a lesser extent, WMTW and WPTZ/WNNE.
Basically, it's the curse of a large chunk of New Hampshire being in Boston's shadow. If there was just a little more distance between Manchester and Boston -- say, ten or twenty miles -- things might be different. WNNE would still be an NBC affiliate, WNHT would still exist as a CBS affiliate, and WMUR would have the standard Hearst graphics package.

The better question to ask is when do the Maags throw in the towel with WFMJ and sell the NBC affiliation and station IP to Nexstar.
Considering that Nexstar owns the CBS (WKBN) and Fox (WYFX-LD) affiliates and operates the ABC affiliate (WYTV), they're going to want to find a different buyer.

But then again, her husband is a coach with the Baltimore Orioles. Could she be going to work for Sinclair after her non-compete is over?
What makes you think it'd be Sinclair? Scripps, Hearst, and CBS are in Baltimore, too.

That could also be the first documentary, series or otherwise, to air on the CW.

What would make sense is to simply move HLN over to ID and not have to change channel positions. Both channels with similar makes one necessary and the other redundant.
That's basically what I said, only going in the other direction.

It's made more complicated by Investigation Discovery having a much better brand and name awareness despite a smaller nationwide cable footprint.
This makes me wonder if the plan is for ID to take over HLN's channel space on most cable systems once the latter is fully shut down.

In the U.S. alone, WBD owns or operates 49 cable networks:
They may as well be a cable TV company. All they need is a 24-hour weather channel.
"Yo, I heard you like cable systems, so I got you a cable system for your cable system."

If you wanted a company - make it two companies! - that makes Sinclair look normal and ethical, may I present to you Apollo-Cox and Standard General. I call it... Apollostandarditis.
Sounds nasty, but I'm sure there's a topical ointment for that.

I’m Surprised it took this long for HLN to leave the CNN Group and go to another segment. it shouldn’t have been under the news networks if all they have had is a morning show. I bet the CNN this morning will run for 6 months and then go away and just air crime and a name change to follow
My interpretation of the announcement is that the crime shows are being added to Investigation Discovery, likely allowing WBD to either flip HLN into something different or vacate the channel space altogether. (If it's the latter, I hope AMC Networks tries to get BBC World News in there.)

I was wondering when Licht was going to start making changes to HLN. Not sure what the point of simulcasting CNN This Morning is, though, especially since I suspect the two channels are side-by-side on most cable systems.

I’m interested in the results in Connecticut. I know WFSB is traditionally first place, but where do WTNH, WVIT, and WTIC place?

The @CBS account hasn't posted a new tweet since Thursday night, so I can believe it applying to more than just the news division.

Not to derail x2, but how did NYC come to be the center of national broadcast news?
By virtue of being the largest media market, I would imagine.

Knowing the way revivals are big these days, I wouldn't be surprised to see Whose Line come back eventually, plus of how cheap it is to produce. Maybe ABC can give it another go alongside its other game shows.
Wasn't it already a revival?

NaFFAA Executive Director Kelly Coldiron called Standard General founder Soo Kim a respected business leader in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community who has built a career investing in jobs and has demonstrated a passion for broadcast journalism by tourning struggling stations around by boosting local news.
I read that word as "touring" and it made the sentence make no sense.

CNBC has long had to navigate a challenge after traditional work hours, hoping to keep business-news audiences paying attention after the stock markets have closed for the day. Over the course of its history, CNBC tested talk shows led by John McEnroe, Donny Deutsch and Dennis Miller, and, more recently, utilized competition shows such as “Shark Tank” and “The Profit.”
Here's an idea for CNBC: Simulcast CNBC World.

I wonder if Nexstar will change the network's name since it'll clearly be a very different beast from what it's been.
Then again, we live in a world where BBC America mostly shows American movies and cop shows and the Travel Channel mostly shows shows about ghosts, so...

It won't surprise me if, within the next decade or so, NBC is streaming the majority of its programming on Peacock...
Except, of course, that it won't be called Peacock.
It'll be called NBC.
(Okay, maybe NBC+.)

If NBC wants to make this move work, they'll need to start putting new shows on Saturday nights again and not just use it for repeats and Dateline.
