  1. Time to return to "The Mission" theme.
  2. I'm surprised there's not more talk of Katie's return to Today. I've only seen bits and pieces, but from what I've seen she hasn't missed a beat. Anyone have access to the overnights?
  3. I like the panel of Whoopi, Sunny, Joy, Sarah, and Jedediah. I like Raven too. If Whooping decides to no renew her contract, It'd be great to have Meredith back. And I'd LOVE Rosie O back. After all the controversy and hoopla, it's gotta be somewhat satisfying to her that Trump has proven her comments right.
  4. Meredith returned to the View today to plug her new documentary and she stayed for After the View. With Whoopi alluding to this being her last season with the View, could Meredith be eyeing a return?
  5. Over/under on Billy Bush on air tomorrow morning?
  6. I'm curious where the ratings stand. Has Today held on to the Olympics bump?
  7. With the 2016 election season what it is and Trump on the verge of a complete psychotic break, it actually be the best scenario for Today that Savannah remains in Studio 1A for the Olympics.
  8. I just assumed this was more a function of NBC 2.0 rather than Rob Johnson. Didn't all CBS O&Os see a bump while Zucker gutted NBC for the Comcast takeover?
  9. Michelle was funny--she was a nice addition. Raven did a great a job of filling that Debbie Matenopolous/Elizabeth Hasselbeck role as the lovable/grating dingbat. The weak link this season is Paula Faris. She's insincere and inauthentic.
  10. Were mornings and 5:00 p.m. that competitive at the time that Rick and Monica needed to pull both shifts? I guess at the time they were assuming Lisa would return to the 5:00 p.m. broadcast?
  11. Good God. Paula Faris is the weakest link of the current roster. She tries to play the devil's advocate but she's completely tone-deaf.
  12. She'll be a west coast anchor the same way Ann was going to be a Today anchor-at-large. And I doubt they'll go without a news anchor completely. They'll go without one only long for viewers to forget about her and avoid the risk of another dicey change in the line up.
  13. Do you think, had WMAQ not pursued a tabloid bent and Ron and Carol had stayed, that they eventually would have unseated WLS?
  14. Aren't they mostly all former Group W stations?
  15. What would be the point of using the KYW signature when they brand as CBS3?
  16. I'm pretty sure it's been discussed before that Lori Stokes has first choice in any evening slot that might become available. If Shirleen is moving anywhere, it will be to fill Lori's slot in the morning.
  17. How is it pandering when the places they're broadcasting from are already kitschy? Would you want blend in and compliment the already established decor?
  18. The whole "Today has just as much fluff as GMA" justification carries as much weight with me as a child telling me that "everyone else is doing it!" I'm not saying one show is more tabloid than the other. They're both an embarrassment. That's just my opinion. If you're a GMA (or Today) fangirl, my apologies. For me, a news division using airtime to hawk flatware is a turn off.
  19. Dude, my bad...forget the election, ISIS, the refugee crisis...ain't nothing wrong with a news organization peddling silverware.
  20. Granted GMA was created to be the light alternative to Today, but the bit of GMA's 40 for 40 broadcast has only underscored for me how far ABC News has fallen. The line between news and entertainment is so blurred at this point, one is indistinguishable from the other.
  21. Once the major news becomes something of the Kardashian vein, WNT will be back on top.
  22. Why not Roseanne Tellez on the evening broadcasts?
  23. Let's hope the overhaul includes the return of the Mission.
