What a great compilation. Thanks for the link! I've just read on Wikipedia that George Putnam "was widely believed to be the inspiration for the character of Ted Baxter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show." That was precisely my thought when I saw Putnam at 1:18 in this compilation! BTW, Kevin Sanders (at 0:35) was a high-profile anchor in Australia in the early days of Aussie television.
