  1. I'm going to need FTVLive to get it right. WIAT is not WOIO sister station (unless they are referencing them both being CBS affiliates) because WBRC is owned by Raycom...
  2. Yeah, they have made cuts in the years past, but the station has just rehired former morning drive personality Frank Ski, former slow jams show host Joyce Littel, and former WHTA afternoon jock Emperor Sercy. All of those people have been added to the staff in the past 12 months alone. The station carries the entire Atlanta radio station cluster alone on its revenue. DC urban sister station WPGC carries its radio cluster in a similar fashion as WVEE with revenue. I remember reading that back when it was posted earlier this year. Les will have a major battle on his hands that he might not realize with the Redstones over the radio division.
  3. CBS has said they are thinking about getting out of radio, but that does not mean they are going to make cuts to WVEE. CBS allows the large staff for the station because WVEE is a major revenue maker for them. It's one of the highest revenue generating radio stations in the country. Les Moonves is behind the selling off the radio division notions, but the Redstones have not backed him on this.
  4. Yes, this is very true with Atlanta. Although WUPA and the CBS Radio cluster are located in two different locations, they work for CBS here. Additionally, WVEE is the most dominant radio station in the Atlanta radio market (consistently #1 or #2 in the PPM ratings) along with being the most profitable urban contemporary radio stations in the nation right behind CHRurban sister station WPGC-FM in Washington DC.
  5. It's that way because of Media General's cheap asses. The likelihood of it regaining prominence in the Birmingham market is imminent with the building of chaos ensuing with Sinclair's acquisition and slow marginalization of ABC 33/40.
  6. I guess WXIA and KUSA will be dead last in the changeover...
  7. Let's see Birmingham's ABC affiliate, WBMA-LP/WJSU/WCFT, ABC 33/40, will be adding a 4 p.m. newscast hosted by long time veteran anchor, Pam Huff. The newscast starts Sept. 12th. Columbus, GA's CBS affiliate, WRBL, will be relaunching its 5pm ET/4PM CT newscast with the same title, "News 3 First Edition" after cancelling it back in 2009 as a result of Media General's cheapness. I suppose the anchors will be current 6PM and 11PM anchors, Phil Scoggins and Theresa Whitaker, chief meteorologist Bob Jeswald, and sports anchor Stuart Webber. It's going up against WTVM's current newscast at the same time.
