Yes. He was hired as the main anchor to replace Maurice. And yes.. this is what happens when people are hired young and out of town because they check a box. Just sayin’.

This set is ugly! The previous one was gorgeous. In style, colors, lighting.
-
300K??? A new set runs about $1 million. that said, their set was really small and dated, and they needed a fresh look.
-
They are hiring (3) of those positions per station. Its like adding 3 additional EP’s to oversee each daypart. They are replacing the longtime vets with more managers. “There will be 3 MCC positions available, working different shifts inside the newsroom. One of the shifts will involve early-morning hours to lead our morning news efforts. One will work later in the evening to lead our late news efforts, with the final a day shift leading evening products.”

I LOVE it. Love the music cut, the standups, much harder and “old school” than the weird Tegna elevator music.

Its a few things. The ABC's have always been better run operations. WCBS has been a shuffle of management in addition to talent. And yes, pay. WCBS starts GA reporters at around 150-170K. WABC 180K-200K.

Has Adrienne Bankert left NN? Or is she in the process? She hasnt posted on social since December. Not a good look. Usually means they are in separation talks, which is to be expected since she lost her show.
-
He was pretty bad as a news anchor. Not to mention, he just looked and sounded completely out of place, disengaged and unfriendly. As for the operation as a whole, what a failure so far. There a few bright spots, but they havent made a mark at all. No one in the market is paying attention to them.
-
They all suck at this point. Crappy reporting from subpar reporters and anchor rejects. It was always basic and lower tier, but had well known long time faces, that provided some comfort.
-
Thats what contracts are for. You cant just quit. He violated it, and a judge will side with the station for damages. Or likely, they will reach a settlement for him to pay back moving expenses etc. If they didnt enforce the contract, no one would take them seriously.
-
Im sure this is temporary until her contract is up. The station is too cheap for two mets.
-
These “retirements” are because they are making too much money. So no, they arent gonna go elsewhere, cause no one is paying old school money. Ken was probably making around 500K. They will bring in a replacement at 200-250.

What an embarrassment. not to mention, that opening segment mocked the city, and made it seem like a shitty podunk town.- 3735 replies

How long until BE is taken off the desk and replaced with Rob Nelson maybe? We know a change is coming under Jen L.
-
Lansing!!!??? Jesus Christ. Fox32’s budget must be pennies.
-
Surprised no one has brought up the michael corn scandal now. How long until he is fired. I swear NN is cursed.
-
So is the Brad Edwards anchor experiment not working? I like Brad.. but his delivery is so dour and depressing. I like different. But in this case.. I think they need a strong handsome male lead.. who can just.. anchor.
-
Oh my god. His grammar is horrible. He never proofs his articles before posting. Drives me nuts. Is Albert Ramon also out? His face was removed from the Prime banner
-
Regardless if they are leaving the business.. half a dozen reporters have left on their own in the last six months. Walking away from a Top 5 reporter job, means something there sucks. WPVI hasnt had a single reporter leave in like 5 years.
-
Omg does it matter? NO ONE is watching. Literally no one. This network is DOA.
-
I was just thinking the same! Scott Jones would be all over this mess. Why is she still on the fox26 site? Surely she should have been fired by days end?
-
Hey.. so whats new at WGCL? Any more talent changes on the horizon? Morale? How are the ratings? Has the new ND moved the needle?
-
Can any station insider there explain why so many reporters are leaving? Is it that bad a shop? Pay? No one leaves the other stations. And… the lack of strong reporters is noticeable. A lot of B team folks.. no stars other than Ukee.
-
Usually he would. In this case, for time it was likely fed in from the site and to turn it around, producers probably took it and spliced it up for him to front.

WNCN is a dump of a station. Nobody stays very long save a few longtime settled folks.
