  1. Chroma key is MIA. They awkwardly did Long WX at the Big Board (the talent has to step out of frame to walk back to the anchor desk...)
  2. They most-likely have a redundant Ignite Client/Server set-up and/or a back-up control room. 15 minutes seems like they had to move to a different control room, load the rundowns, etc.
  3. Judging by the "generic" markings on the truck...just "NBC" and "Telemundo"...makes me think this may be used by several O&Os in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
  4. My guess would be... It's a decoration.
  5. This is an absolutely silly thing to discuss on this website. I'm going to try and reason with you, but you have a weird temper and start writing in caps and making things bold. Scary stuff...(seriously, you get worked up over shit like this?!) Full disclosure: I have no idea who this lady is, and if you asked me to pick her picture out of a line up, I would lose. As others have said, nobody here knows what exactly has transpired for her to take several months off. This could have been medically necessary...NOT because of the break-up, but it could have triggered a medical condition (depression, substance abuse...I don't want to speculate.) Just...be happy she's coming back. Stop trying to figure out why or what caused it. I know people here obsess over things like that but...take a few seconds, and think to yourselves "does this affect my life in any way, shape or form?" It doesn't? Good. Let it go.
  6. Inside Edition tapes at 3pm and 4pm eastern. Live-to-tape, which means it doesn't get edited. WLS must take it live. Fun fact, if there is ever a mess-up in the 3pm version, they put up a slate during each local break that says something to the effect of "take next feed due to technical difficulties" for stations that air it later.
  7. KYW 1060 has been using that signature consistently for many years...while the TV side has been on-and-off. Maybe they're hoping people remember the connection? "You listen to KYW in the car, remember to watch KYW before you head out the door!" The radio side has a strong reputation (possibly because it's the only all news station, but I digress). Its not the worst choice, basically everyone in the market will immediately recognize what those notes are.
  8. Well, the fact that it took posting a picture of the studio for anyone to notice tells me...Its not a big deal. It's the weekend show, and they have an rear projection screen that can make it look just like they're in the main studio. Saves a little money, viewers don't notice. Seems like a no-lose scenario for NBC.
  9. Chris started in Florida...and is from Alabama. Perhaps this is to be closer to family. This isn't a bad move, he's moving down 7 markets to a better shift...it's pretty much a lateral move. Career moves are not always about market size!
  10. Willing to bet this was human error. Log rolled over to Network early, because someone didn't double check when it was going to hit network. Automation just did what it was programmed to do.
  11. Quote from the article: So, they wanted to pull all of those stunts with no repercussions? I like unions, but this seems a little strange in my opinion. I also don't understand the inner-workings of union contracts, so this may be a normal provision.
  12. There's no way the anchors on the Pariscope stream knew what this question meant.
  13. Meanwhile, at NBC: It's a joke. I'm not attacking ABC, heaven forbid anyone does that.
  14. Wasn't asking for a job title, just the department.
  15. What department do you work in? The way you answer this will help confirm if you're actually in the business.
  16. It's a PNG with an alpha channel. I assume their website header/banner has a dark background, so it's probably not hard to read there. (I didn't check tbh.)
  17. UNFILTERED, BOREDOM-INFLUENCED SPECULATION: Maybe they were shooting promos over a period lasting several days, and those promos required him to wear the same suit. He either forgot to change the tie or didn't care, as probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 people noticed. #suitgate2015 #thisstuffmatters
  18. "Oh crap, I forgot my suit at home! Glad I kept this one in the green room overnight."
  19. It's best not to point out issues. The people did notice wouldn't need to be reminded again, and you don't want to tell people just tuning in about your earlier issues. Also, it upsets the control room. Not sure we could blame this on automation, it sounds like a wireless mic system flaked out and they had to switch to some place that had hard-wired mics.
  20. Those WKYT graphics are in-house (built in VizRT), and based off a 6 or 7 year old PKG they used to have. All the Hub graphics packages are more unique.
  21. Glad to hear Les is back at the desk. I've heard many good things about him.
  22. I guarantee nobody (like, literally anybody besides people on this website) could care any less that 2 people anchored weekend evening shows. They're used to seeing it in every other newscast on every station. I'm looking for a valid argument otherwise, but I don't see people finding 2 people reading the news taking away from the product whatsoever.
