Didn't Pittsburgh's WTAE in the early 80s for a time have three anchors during their hour-long 6 pm Action News - iirc, Don Cannon, Paul Long, and Mike Schneider? Their news set anchor desk actually was designed to accommodate three anchors.

Nexstar's WTAJ Altoona started using two meteorologists this past Monday morning - Christy Shields and hired WJAC's former meteorologist Jim Burton. Jim was released abruptly from WJAC last year.

Thanks for attaching those Pittsburgh videos. Seeing those videos sure does bring the memories back. I love hearing those classic news themes as well as seeing former anchors. It seems as the actual themes used in the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s are very rare and hard to find in their entirety in the clear. Couple of the news music theme sites do not have the actual variations of the themes which were used in Pittsburgh through the years. A KDKA theme or two were instrumental versions of the campaign songs which were made exclusive to KDKA - iirc, for example, the Renaissance 2 and KD+you themes.

Could anyone post any KDKA, WIIC turned into WPXI, WTAE, WPGH news opens/closes from the 70s, 80s, and early 90s? Interested in Erie, PA and Youngstown, OH as well for the same time frame. These are hard to find, rare, and would love to see them again since born and raised in western PA

All of this discussion on Nexstar hardly ever includes WTAJ Altoona. Any word on a set refresh or a new set in the works coming soon for WTAJ?

re: WTAE Pittsburgh Just noticed during last night's 11 pm newscast "WTAE TV Pittsburgh" is on the screen for a few seconds with their lower graphics and goes off. No screengrabs. After legal ID at top, this occurred on-going with all lower graphics during the first segment.
