1. Good Day New York still has the old open and theme.
2. 10pm open: (FOX O&O is officially no more in NYC). 10pm rejoin:
3. Unfortunately Livestream has been stuck airing a 7:57am Today news update from July 4th, no one can't record a open unless you live in the Memphis area.
4. They still haven't dropped the FOX O&O theme yet, they still use it for the bumpers and close (for now).
5. I love the current graphics. It's a New York Subway style which works well on WABC and they doesn't seen standardized (Yes I know WGGB/WSHM has them too) which nearly even other station in town has. Channel 7 is not a flashy station but the graphics knows how to get the job done without being in your face nor does it insult your intelligence.
6. WEHT/WTVW switched to the new website but their (hidden) livestream is gone.
7. Let's see the list so far of weather personalities from other ABC O&Os who have been to 7 Lincoln Square this year. KABC KGO (Spencer Christian) KSFN KTRK WLS WPVI (Karen Rogers x2) WTVD Next up: Who knows?
8. When I tuned in around 3pm, all NYC news stations was on including WNYW, WXTV, NY1, and News 12 BK/BX. I was impressed with N12 and WXTV with their live coverage usually they rarely show up. On the other hand, NY1 spent way too much tv time on anchors and reporters in the studio instead of showing videos and pictures plus they were bragging about themselves about Gov. Cuomo (who was closer to the area due an event he was attending nearby) talking to them before Mayor DeBlasio (who came back from Iowa early in the morning and was at City Hall when it happened). Case in point:
9. On the same day of discovery of Todd's death WPLG got new graphics. At least he's riding the "10 Taxi" up above.
10. News 12 and WXTV have teamed up to provide a five minute spanish language news and weather updates twice a day on the weekdays for the News 12's digital platforms called "Noticias Nueva York por News 12" (News New York by News 12). https://www.rbr.com/noticias-12-nueva-york-uni-alt/ http://bronx.news12.com/story/40474760/univision-new-york-news-12-partner-to-bring-spanishlanguage-news-updates-to-viewers-throughout-the-tristate-area The topicals are seen on News12's twitter are in english. https://twitter.com/News12BX/status/1128834953406550017
11. NewsOn took off WTOL (and KWES) for the time being, we have to wait until after 9am to see it in action due the 24 hour "Green Chair Donate Life Sit-in." http://www.wtol.com/2019/04/09/donate-life-take-seat-take-stand-importance-organ-donation/
12. They sat down for the 6pm newscast.: (They played "This Is The Place" for the close)
13. Good news is...in the lobby of their studio by the Live with Kelly and Ryan studio audience entrance, there's a picture of every news pairing they have now, from weekday mornings to weekend evenings. I'll find out if she's officially on the roster on Wednesday or Thursday when I'll quickly swing by.
14. Speaking of Newscopter 7, to quote Steve Harvey?
15. KNSD's sports director Jim Laslavic is retiring after 30 years tonight. Former anchors Marty Levin and Susan Taylor are coming to join him on the set one last time. https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/sports/Jim-Laslavic-Laz-to-Retire-San-Diego-Sports-NBC-7-KNSD-505375821.html
16. Looks like they got a new voiceover replacing Chris Corley.
17. Bronx/Brooklyn's set debuts tomorrow evening. Meteorologist Mike Rizzo has been posting previews on his twitter over the weekend. Looks like they're using a standing desk.
18. It used to be one small monitor similar how WCNC's set used to look like before they added more monitors.
19. News 12 Bronx/Brooklyn is getting a new set and they have moved into their newsroom. http://bronx.news12.com/story/39511987/new-look-coming-to-news-12-the-bronx Old set: (It's a very small studio, there's nothing else in there. Weather is done by one of those monitors behind the desk or in separate area next to the weather office near the newsroom.) Newsroom: (Looks better on camera, they should put a "News 12" logo on the wall and they're set as a permanent set):
20. WMAZ is getting a new set. (Fun fact: Chief Meteorologist Ben Jones built parts of the studio)(His boss is also his wife and former WMAZ anchor Nora Lynch)
21. Unless he's talking about "PBS NewsHour Weekend" which is a half hour.
22. WHCP 2005-06 (Now WQCW) I think they spent a wee too much money on that open.
