On their own website, it says G4 is a digital first network, which means it's likely going to be a live channel on Peacock and possibily a live stream on Twitch and Youtube. Why they heck would they want to put a gamer-first channel on a distribution platform their audience is moving away from?
Is there a particular fetish here for NBCSN to go away or something?
I am actually predicting that Golf Channel will go off first (and golf coverage be merged into NBCSN) before NBCSN goes off completely due to GC closing their Florida studios (relocating to their CT homebase) and cancelled all of the programming (most notably Morning Drive) and staff with it

Nope. And with Hal Brown now in jail for fraud, I'd have to find someone else willing to talk about VTS to get any more insider info related to them. (Not sure if Brad Kelley was still there at that point, I believe Earl Grizzell left in 1990?)
Did a Google search after you mentioned it and this article popped up.. Geez....

Apparently Alicia Roberts is gone too...I noticed she changed her twitter handle/facebook link to remove the 46, and ig is "on tv"

Here's more from the Anchorage Daily News.
On a related note, I wonder what impacts this will have on Southeast Alaska. Did Gray also acquire the CBS affiliation for Southeast Alaska as well, or does GCI still own it? I have a feeling we will know more once Gray's acquisition of KATH/KSCT closes, which I have a feeling will be followed by an acquisition of the CBS Southeast cluster (KTNL Sitka / KUBD Ketchikan / KXLJ Juneau).
KTUU has dominated Alaska news for as long as it's been around.
Correction: at least since the late 80's...KIMO was at the top before that

John LaPorte is quitting from his post as KIRO ND after a year to head back to Milwaukee to be WDJT's Assistant ND. LaPorte was the architect of WITI's quiet rise to market leader over the past decade, so this is a huge (much needed) boost. He will new GM join Anne Brown, another ex WITI-er

I see that they migrated WITI over to the Fox web publishing platform. Looks like according to archive.org, it seems to have happened on July 30. (Still using the "Fox6Now.com" domain.)
They have changed their Facebook logo to the current FTS format and updated their weather app. The Watch Live stand by has also changed, a sign of things to come?

KUSA meterologist Marty Coniglio out after posting a tweet comparing US federal agents to Nazis.
First Sven Sundgaard from their sister station KARE got the boot for similar comments, now Marty. Well at least Tegna is consistent.

Over and out for GM Mark Strachota after 6 years at WDJT...Anne Brown from crosstown WITI will be his successor.. Will be interesting to see how she will shape the station...

Speaking of KSWB news, looks like Aloha Taylor is missing again. (since Mar 26 when she last posted on FB) (It popped up in my head when I watched her last day on IG) Heard rumors on social media that it might be permanent, but she is still on the bios and I don't see a Meteorologist opening, just an anchor and Tabitha's old position (sports) (Even though Aloha's bio states she is a watcher anchor instead of the typical chief meteorologist)
Update: Aloha returned last week after dealing with a family situation. Hope everything will be well for Aloha and her family.
In Orlando news, Bob Frier left WOFL last week after over a decade. A huge loss for them, IMHO.

Scott Steele has settled his lawsuit from WTMJ. Good for him, never was a fan of his shtick, but it sucks that a longtime face gets treated this way. Coincidentally, I saw (from one my FB friends) that a fill in host of WISN AM's morning show talked about a Facebook post he saw of Spunky , Scott's former sidekick at WITI.

Could be a shakeup at KTLA coming, with the first shoe obviously being Don Corsini's retirement, as mentioned in the LA forum. They are pleasantly surprised (thankfully) at WGN on the other hand.
