Hey! Another person with ASD. There seem to be a number of us in the community! Please pass us the link when it's posted online after-the-fact.

Check me in too, through mild austism.

KDKA-TV chief meteorologist Jeff Verszyla just tweeted that he was let go from the station after 23 years.

Another stupid $$ move by the new GM and The Church of Tisch. Hope Jeff can resurface soon.

  3. Rare video of KHON’s morning news from 2003, back when they branded themselves as “Fox 2”:

Saw this awhile ago while searching vintage Hawaii video and forgot to post it. Loved that morning theme music they had before the relaunch later that year.

  4. Congrats to CKMI Global Montreal's Jamie Orchard. She has been there since the beginning in 1997 (CKMI gained Global from CBC) and has anchored the Global Montreal Newshour since 2001. She's pretty much become a recognizable face in the Montreal market, alongside CFCF's Mutsumi Takahashi (who's been there since 1986).

Now, she's their assistant news director. She'll be managing their station's on-air and online teams and yes, she'll continue to anchor the weeknight news at 5:30, 6:00 and 11:00 p.m.

For someone who's been there since the beginning of Global Television in Montreal, I'm not surprised to hear this news. Well deserved to Jamie.

Actually, Mits joined CFCF around 1982 as a reporter and became anchor in 1986.

  5. Two KXTV notes...Morning anchor Megan Telles, which moved off the Morning Blend this June to work on a new "show" on the station has exited the station via her instagram/facebook. Cristina Mendonsa..another KXTV exile has resurfaced on KFBK radio replacing vet Amy Lewis on the morning news program as of this week, she had been doing special reports. Indeed also shows a slew of openings at the station, including weekend AM anchor.

  6. More changes at KXTV in Sacramento...

Morning Blend anchor Megan Telles reassigned to upcoming 4pm show debuting this fall...Walt Gray holding down the fort for the Blend...

9am/11am newscast cancelled, internet show Extra Shot, which has been "under reconstruction" cancelled as well (?)

Paid lifestyle show Sac and Co moves to 9am, Daily Blast Live is now at 11am.

  7. “Live, Local, Latebreaking. 12 News is Everywhere!”

    (WISN maybe 1996)

Saw this a weeks ago and forgot to post. I think it's maybe around 1998, as Mark Baden didn't join 12 until 1997

On a Milwaukee-related note, I am starting to believe that WTMJ didn't switch to Impact until they updated the graphics package "with the ring L3" logo in 1996, as seen here:

    Unless they switched in December

as the KING 1992 theme and first gen jcBD look were still active in November (which the former I believe I also am starting to believe Wow and Flutter composed it, and the 1999 theme KING had.)

I am actually in a Broadcast Animation class at MATC, which is teached by the head Graphics Supervisor for many years at TMJ, His demo and channel features some of his work at TMJ here:

    (1988 special)

A bit anxious to ask him about it, even though I had thoughts in my mind about it. I told him a little about my TV News hobby through in my class.

  8. Like her former co-anchor Paul Piaskoski, who's apparently pursing a law career via his Linkedin, Michele McCormack has found a career after TV, and has joined the Hunger Task Force as a manger. I hope they both enjoy life after the screen, especially at WDJT...they deserve it. Just ask KKTV's Brian Bledsoe on how life's after 58's been going after a decade out of there, I bet Paul and Michele will have a similar positive experience.

  9. WGCL should've gotten rid of Swann when they had the chance. That has made the station even more of a laughing stock. Plus, that article has mentioned of how planned afternoon/evening coverage was scrapped after the weeknight anchors sent an e-mail.

I kinda wish Hearst would buy Meredith and pull a WIAT. I have followed Swann over the years and he would be better off doing talk radio. Less complications.
