I may have spotted the first sign of WRTV's new logo on their website.  Now please, everyone, contain your excitement at this design marvel and do not bombard me with requests of black-market copies of this logo.

There is lazy... And there is THAT! I get being safe but that is the absolute bare minimum graphic job. Like 5 seconds and done. If I did that on FTV I would be laughed out the building but here Scripps doing it in real life!

I wonder what the hold up is? Is it because WTHR and WBNS decided to join WNEP in the fight to protect their imagery and things that made them so successful for so long or is it something else?

WBNS's current look is only just 3 years old for them that is young. I think they DON'T want to not break the machine in Columbus. WBNS is a beast in the market but not so much lately with WSYX and WCMH gaining on them fast... If Claps and Boops come to Columbus it will be interesting to say the least with Nexstar might want to do some new graphics for WCMH soon... (RUMOR AND SPECULATION from That source I said earlier. but I discount it hard) and WSYX actually putting up a competent news operation in Columbus.

I’ve heard WTHR will be TEGNA’ed by the end of the month. I’ll ask my source for an update.

WTHR would probably go before WBNS in a lot of things.

I Called this three years ago when they first sold The Dispatch. I knew this was coming and THIS VERY COMPANY TOO!

Here the thing if you are Sinclair or Nexstar this morning... Columbus has just become a WIDE OPEN MARKET where WCMH or WSYX could EASILY be #1 in the market!

  4. As much I don't care for Sinclair's politics and How it does business. Their Sports Coverage has been really well done and better then FOX has done of the last couple of years. Stadium is very serviceable as a brand and this now makes it better with local teams and brands as well. Maybe this will force Sinclair to actually invest in Sports Departments in general as connecting it with Stadium will now give them the reach to compete with ESPN.

I know speculation and wishing, Sinclair and These RSN could be big deals if Sinclair does it right!

Does it have. An L bar component?

With the one I've saw on air, No.

    Edit:

If you have seen the CBS Austin one from earlier in the video, that is Sinclair's new information bar style. the L-Bar is dead for all intents and purposes.

Different graphics during a different era in time during the station history.

Not so much, for most of WSYX's history, they have been the red-headed stepchild of the stations it was only about recently I would say honestly the beginning of the "News Center" era WSYX started punching with WBNS and WCMH on a consistent basis outside of the late 80's with the turn being WCMH getting bought by MG and WSYX and WTTE getting a real investment by Sinclair around that time as well.

  7. Scott Light is there, remember Light and Kelly Frank news director both worked @ WGCL/CBS46 in Atlanta. Hogan, was set to be heir in the evenings. Just note even though BNS wins, has all the toys, but inside the building it consider the dark side...

I was told when Yolanda Harris was at WSYX many former 10er's told her don't go to the dark side and it wasn't worth it, but she jumped ship.

Hogan, was tired sitting on the weekends... He was waiting to sit next to Harris.

God so we have Kenneth The Page as the next man up at WBNS...Oh good god no!

Guess what, WCMH... It looks likes there might be a NEW worst station and NEW icon for me coming soon!
