KTUL evening anchor Kristin Dickerson just announced during the 5:00 newscast that she will leave the station in July to join KXAS in DFW.

KJRH in Tulsa has a new morning anchor team starting tomorrow. Daniel Winn (previously of KRCG and KMIZ) and Taniya Wright (formerly of WHAG) will join current anchor Max Resnik, who becomes breaking news anchor. Last night on FB, KOTV/KQCW weeknight 9:00p anchor Chera Kimiko announced that she will "take a break" from TV news and is leaving the station. Kimiko has been in the market since 2002, when KOKI launched its news operation, staying until 2014, when she joined Ch. 6. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153822554238895

Another change at KJRH's weather team... Morning/weekend meteorologist Brittany Rainey is leaving the station to return to Florida after 3 years in the market. Her final broadcast is on Sunday night. She made the announcement on her Facebook page Tuesday. Meanwhile, KJRH has hired meteorologist (and Tulsa native) Jon Haverfield from KWTX in Waco.

KTUL has promoted weekend meteorologist Mike Collier to Chief Meteorologist, replacing Jennifer Zeppelin, the first female Chief Meteorologist in Oklahoma, who left the station on Friday for Omaha, Nebraska. More news from KJRH. The stations' weather team is now down to 3. AM meteorologist George Flickinger announced on Facebook today that he is leaving the station after 10 years (13 years total in the market, starting at KOKI) to become chief meteorologist at WSET-TV in Lynchburg, Virginia. Flickinger's last day is Tuesday.

Former KXAN morning anchor Brian Sanders has joined KJRH to become its' new evening anchor, replacing Russ McCaskey. Sanders starts on Monday.

Today, KOTV announced that they are launching a weekend edition of its' morning newscast "Six In The Morning" starting April 4. It will air for two hours on Saturdays from 8am-10am (CTM: Saturday will now before it from 6am-8am), and one hour on Sundays at 6am. This makes KOTV the 3rd station in Tulsa to carry weekend morning news, after KJRH and KOKI. KTUL is probably not too far behind.

Starting Monday, KOKI will join KTUL in starting its' morning newscast at 4:30a. Former KMIR anchor Elizabeth Beaubien is joining KJRH as its' new morning anchor, also starting Monday.

KTUL only streamed it online, but it did get promoted after Ferguson stories during newscasts for the past few days. This being one of the first times I've heard them make any mention of the new owners.

Meanwhile, here in Market #60, two anchors are leaving KJRH. The weekday morning team of Justin Wilfon and Deena Silk will be leaving the Scripps-owned NBC station. Silk is out after 9 years with Ch. 2 as of tomorrow. Wilfon is leaving in late August for sister station KSHB in Kansas City to join "The Now."

Beginning Saturday, KOTV will expand its' Saturday 6:00p newscast to an hour, replacing the statewide travel show "Discover Oklahoma" at 6:30p. The program is moving to KTUL at the same time (replacing "Wheel" reruns).

Two reporters are out at KJRH. Investigative Reporters Pete Knutson and Michele Lowry are leaving the Scripps-owned Tulsa station. Knutson has been with the station for 16 years, and Lowry for 10 years.

KJRH has fired chief meteorologist Dan Threlkeld. According to a post on his Facebook page, Threlkeld was escorted out of the building by station management yesterday afternoon, before he was supposed to give an on-air farewell tomorrow. His successor, former KSHB meteorologist Brett Anthony, starts next month.
