  1. The public perception of Mark Mester post KTLA means nothing. He IS damaged goods in the eyes of those who do hiring in broadcast media. He's shown he is a loose cannon - on air. That won't play well. Regardless, he's done in L.A.
  2. I'm sure the attorneys for Nexstar have said "shut up" to management. That's the correct public relations move as this will all fade very fast - just like most news cycles. Until KTLA gets a direct threat, ratings & more importantly revenue slide in the morning news game in L.A., management is safe.
  3. You are in a forum discussing KTLA which is in California. If you read through the link I posted you'd also know that any company that does business in California or a company outside the state that employers California residents can not enforce their non-compete clauses at all. Glad I was able to educate you. You can thank me anytime you wish.
  4. Non-competes are illegal in California https://oag.ca.gov/news/press-releases/attorney-general-bonta-reminds-employers-and-workers-noncompete-agreements-are
  5. Two of Murdoch's properties (TMZ, NY Post) have picked up the story, video. Good luck getting a job anywhere. https://www.tmz.com/2022/09/23/mark-mester-fired-ktla-lynette-romero-anchor-management/ https://nypost.com/2022/09/22/ktlas-mark-mester-fired-after-rogue-rant-on-lynette-romero/?utm_campaign=nypdaily&utm_source=sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_content=20220923&lctg=607d8f7070302947037f9d53&utm_term=NYP - Morning Report
  6. Social media reaction isn't going to get you a job in Los Angeles. He's done in market #2.
  7. More reaction. This story isn't going away. The Nexstar Mess in LA.... — FTVLive
  8. I suggest you read the article I posted. They were not divorced when KCBS was forced to admit Lampley & Bree were to be married. It was never private. It was the talk of all the gossip columns in L.A. early on.
  9. No. This is not the standard. The standard is to for the station's p.r. department to release a press release thanking the employee for their service and wishing good luck in their future endeavors. Never say a word on-air if the employee is going to a cross town competitor. This started when KTLA allowed Sam Rubin to read a lengthy departure story about his co-worker on-air. Then KTLA posted it to their social media. It should have been known by management that Mark Mester was going to make a statement - he promoted it the day before - and it should have at the very least been reviewed ahead of time & monitored live. If anyone is to blame & should be suspended and in my view fired is management at KTLA. They dropped the ball themselves. I've worked at/consulted radio stations that would have cut off Mark Mester mid-sentance for criticizing management on-air and they'd instantly be fired. Clearly management doesn't follow his social media or watch him on air live. This is Los Angeles not podunk West Virginia. This was highly unprofessional from all involved at KTLA - but specifically management.
  10. Closer to home, Paul Moyer was allowed to say goodbye on KNBC. But not in-studio. https://franklinavenue.blogspot.com/2009/05/knbc-bids-farewell-to-paul-moyer-who.html?m=1
  11. Lynette Romero leaving KTLA after nearly 24 years. KTLA tweeted Sam Rubin's video about her departure then deleted their tweet. They've reposted a new video now
  12. None of the comments in the two threads on Fox 11's page on Twitter about her departure are complementary to her. They're still up. On Facebook, Fox 11 put up her departure video and disabled the ability to comment. They've since deleted the video. I highly doubt she will resurface in Los Angeles ever again.
  13. Dan Abrams 25-54 demo ratings fall below 1000 viewers. NewsNation ratings aren't growing, they are continuing to fall.
  14. Lampley and Walker were married to other people and had an affair, divorced their spouses and married while at KCBS. It was a noticeable scandal on air. No comparison. L.A.'S MOST VISIBLE Office Romance : When TV news co-anchors Jim Lampley and Bree Walker became a team off the air as well as on, tongues started wagging. What's it like to conduct a romance when so many people are watching? - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)
  15. At the same time as Reelz On Patrol: Live on Friday 7/29, which is live in all time zones, Dan Abrams competing with himself on NewsNation only attracted 7,000 25-54, 50,000 total viewers. Absolutely pathetic. Something Nexstar could have had to promote their lackluster failing network.
  16. On Patrol: Live did over 1 million viewers on its third outing Friday night 7/29. #1 25-54, 18-34. 340,000 25-54 viewers. On a channel with about 2/3 the subs as NewsNation and on a number of cable systems on a more costly tier. Congrats to Hubbard. Nexstar and NewsNation ARE A JOKE https://twitter.com/OnPatrolFNation/status/1554201511885946882?s=20&t=aS38y6H_lrx3mdXsnYSVUQ
  17. Considering how badly all of NewsNation's ratings continue to be, I doubt he'll remain much longer. 47,000 viewers & only 20,000 25-54 at 9 PM. I've consulted single medium market radio stations that get better 25-54 numbers than NN does nationally.
  18. Have you ever sold time? Paid programming is the backbone of many low rated independent or CW/MNT stations especially in off-rated time periods such as mornings.
  19. One, it wasn't MSNBC's decision. It was hers. Two, one day a week doesn't help your ratings on the other four which will tank. Consistency is all that works. Being on one day a week also will hurt her own ratings on Monday but she doesn't care. She just doesn't want to be responsible for what is going to occur to the Democrat Party in the midterms.
  20. The ratings still suck. Nothing changes for this loser. https://twitter.com/RoadMN/status/1511806759475855360?s=20&t=ktoN2-ZACKkxA7w6O8TJeA The demos are even worse https://twitter.com/RoadMN/status/1511807126653517830?s=20&t=ktoN2-ZACKkxA7w6O8TJeA
  21. Some more FACTS about NewsNation. They make good laughs at the Thanksgiving dinner table.
  22. I really don't care about your family. Note how newspapers and their journalists have destroyed their own circulations. Most cities will no longer have a newspaper within 10 years. Local tv news is going the same route. NewsNation DOES NOT have a good viewer base. I know. You know that so stop lying. I can prove it and will in this post. CAN YOU? Obviously not. NewsNation started with the exact same reach as Fox News. Do you even know what that was? It was not a start-up channel. Comparing it to Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, Newsmax...all of which were startup channels EXCEPT MSNBC is simply moronic... CBSN (which is no winner but certainly has better distribution points than NewsNation). Go look at these demos on a VERY BUSY news day and do yourself a favor, shut up. You don't know anything. NewsNation is the biggest failure in TV news. Hands down.
  23. Going by this forum decides what is and isn't a quality network? LOL. That's why most people in tv news are going to lose their jobs this decade. They don't understand today or the future. You especially. If it wasn't for independent news, a case in Wisconsin would not have been decided on facts. No mainstream network or local outlet was there to cover the events that occured. Independent journalists are beating the mainstream media every single day and the public has noticed. Apparently the public agrees with me. Do I need to post a chart of how the ratings of NewsNation have not only slid when it was WGN America but has continued to slide throughout this year? It is a FAILURE and that isn't going to change. RAV gets more viewers from WarRoom, and isn't the only show on RAV that does, than NewsNation gets from any program they carry. Yes, it is rough production wise around the edges but at least it has a huge growing base across multiple platforms. Something that can not be said for any NewsNation program. NewsNation is the single BIGGEST failure in the history of tv news. You've just proved it by calling it a national cable network and so did I providing at link to its ratings. Show me one cable news network with its reach that has consistently had ratings as low as it has. When you want to have a fact based discussion about how LOW the streaming numbers, including YouTube, are for NewsNation, I'll be happy to make a mockery out of your uneducated post again. Really, quit making such ridiculous statements if you can't bring facts. FACTS. Go look at a definition of the word.
  24. LOL! I posted the ratings for NewsNation on Friday. A HUGE news day. They continue to fall month after month. And, no, NewsNation is not a facts based news effort in the least with its low rated opinion programming. Really, if you are going to come here and make statements, stop making misleading ones. Go look at the Apple podcasts rankings for top news podcasts. Every day Steve Bannon's WarRoom is in the Top 10. Show me one NewsNation joke program that even makes it to the top 100 on ANY chart. RAV and Newsmax get it right by offering their products across a spectrum of hosting services. Something Nexstar will never learn. Yes, Live PD is the only thing that could save NewsNation. Explain why NewsNation added Abrams & Larkin from LivePD? Nexstar just does not understand that they were not the stars of the show. There is no need for a LivePD channel. A&E didn't exist just on it but it did fuel its ratings rise for other shows throughout the week. LivePD was a very low cost production. You people really have NO CLUE AT ALL! Good luck (not really) to NewsNation even existing after the heavy rumors of CNN complete retooling come to fruition after Discovery begins control. I really don't care about YOUR OPINION. I posted FACTS. You are not.
  25. Glad to see how jealous you are. The PATHETIC NewsNation ratings continue to FALL even on a HUGE news day. https://twitter.com/RoadMN/status/1462903552427372545?s=20
