I don't understand why they would preempt half of the 5:00 p.m. newscast for this show. I'm not going to comment on the content of the program itself, but why not try a show like this on a weekend morning or even preempt half of the 9:00 GDNY hour on a summer Friday to air this?
I guess we shouldn't be surprised; after all, this is a station that has regularly preempted the second half of the 10:00 p.m. newscast for "After Empire," and "Friday Night Live." I'm all for trying new things and experimenting, but the decision to preempt the news for this lifestyle/entertainment programming seems to send the message that Fox 5 isn't really serious about the news.
I thought the same exact thing.. Preempt the 9:00 hour or atleast 1/2 of it and there. To preempt evening news is obsurd. And I don't care what anyone says there's no way in hell that Ernies show is doing well. NJTV news is probably beating it. FOX5 used to be good, they say people don't want to hear about shootings and terrorism, then why are they watching the news? I don't care about the next big rapper or if moms are giving little Joey chunky peanut butter instead of creamy. I want to know what's happening around me. *Rant OVER*

OMG!
Bling sneakers and an audience that came from the "standby" line at Regis and Kathy Lee .
I think you mean Live with Kelly
-
If the 6:30 gets cancelled Brenda and Kaity should get the 5:00.. Tamsen and John at 6:00 (in a traditional format) and John and Kaity at 10.
-
At 5:30 on this coming friday there will be no news.. Instead the "D&A" show.. Or something like that.. And will be a talk show for mothers hosted by Dari Alexander and Audrey Puente..
-
I think it's more of a contract thing.. Even when Greg isn't there she doesn't fill in for Rosanna. Friday it was Ben and Juliet early.. Then Ben and Teresa at 7.. Monday Robert and Juliet then Robert and Teresa.
-
It also seems like a lighter work load (or more normal schedule?) Maybe at WNBC to anchor noon and report early evenings?
-
Dick and Dana at 11 too

On air he said it was his choice for his family.. That tweet makes it seem like it was forced

I'm sorry but if a reporter/anchor is going to be out from behind the desk (sitting on the couch, anything with a full body shot) they should not be allowed to wear jeans. Every Friday Greg wears them and Dan Bowens had them on at 10.. They look very sloppy and honestly comes off as unprofessional.. This apples to both male and female

Well its official Rob Powers is heading back home to Cleveland:

Wonder who will replace? Likely Laura Behnke but I'm just not sure if she's the BEST pick.. I think they should go through all possible options

CBS 3 is back to using their old mic flags.
That's cause the "3D" ones they had probably all broke

Was anyone watching this morning? I saw a few posts on Facebook about something Rob Nelson said that was in appropriate? Just wondering what it was.

What is going on there lately?! First today at 5 at the end of her report about smart phones tracking you Nina Pineda was in the studio with a selfie stick promoting her Facebook live.. Then when they went back to the desk where Diana and Sade had their phones out "checking their settings" Now at 11 Josh Einiger did a report from his desk in the newsroom (where the mic failed) reminding me of what WNBC did with the content center. I hope they aren't changing to be more "modern" what they have is why they're number one and shouldn't change because I can garuntee they'll loose. 2 things I wish they would change however is to get new backdrops at the anchor desk.. And to put a desk back in the newsroom like they used to have instead of infront of the screen.. There's just something about that I don't like
-
They also discussed that reporter Zachary Kesch (sp?) having dreadlocks.. I don't know why it matters I guess they're trying to show they're different. I don't care what a reporter looks like, I care about the product being put out and FOX5 Isn't quite hitting it.. The morning is fine. I love GDNY but hate those skits they do.. Once in a while it's ok but not all the time.. When Empire is on and they do the special at 10:30 I think it ridiculous. They needs to go back to reporting real local news and stop worrying about hip-hop and who's with who. I think the 6pm is stupid and wasting Ernies talent.. Have him anchor a NEWSCAST solo if they don't want to add an anchor but what they're doing sucks. Social media is important and will continue to be in the future but with the exception of GDNY I definetly don't prefer the "new" FOX5

PIX Launching weekend morning newscast

Thoughts on this....
Anna Gilligan (entertainment reporter for GDNY)
Russ Salzberg (sports anchor evenings)
Haven't been replaced. I know that Russ just left on Friday, but having the anchors do sports/entertainment seems a bit weird. I would assume they would at least have fillins.
Is this where they are headed or do you think these players will eventually be replaced.
There was the new weekend girl for sports... I almost wonder if Ryan Asselta is gone too. He has been off the last 2 weeks and this new girl is the new weekend sports girl...
Entertainment really isn't that big of a deal in my opinion. Does any station have more than one entertainment reporter anymore? Sports is big in NY though and it's bad if they aren't going to fill it that's not good.

Noticed WCBS was using a new background at 5pm, not sure about other dayparts. I couldn't tell but it may even be a live background.
They've been using one at noon since the new graphics debuted.. Not sure if it's the same one as at 5 but it's a major improvement from the previous one.. The one at noon is not live but very nice

I must admit I didn't think I'd like Kori Chambers solo but he's not too bad.. He's actually pretty good.. The team tonight was Kori, Marissa Torres with weather and Joe Mauceri with sports. They all seemed good together and Kori could talk with out being interrupted.. He was in for John at 10 on Friday and him and Tamsen were also good together.. I will say it again Kori was NOT the problem on the morning show..

Does anyone have any idea if they'll be 16:9 or will they still be safe zoned like channel 2?

They did not even go a full week with the new anchor teams. Scott is off Thursday and Friday with Anthony DiLorenzo subbing for him Thursday.
More than likely all planned vacations or personal days.. This all happened with a few days notice
-
Anthony DiLorenzo was in for Craig this morning with Kala Rama (husband and wife) Kala posted a picture on Instagram yesterday saying the last time a husband and wife anchored was Joe and Pat Harper back in the 70s.. Has this happened on any other NYC station besides PIX?

What's the new PIX line up? I hope Suki and Tamsen are gone
Clearly they aren't...

Dyrol Joiner is taking over weekend sports.. Any word if they're keeping the sports desk or will the news go from 10-11 with a sports segment added? Also did they mention the changes this morning?

Craig treadway confirmed his shift on Twitter so I believe this time it's true. I'm glad they realized that chambers and Krishnan didn't have chemistry however.
I agree but if she's been paired with like 4 or 5 people since she started maybe..just maybe she's the problem? I do think this will work Scott has a very light personality and seems to work well with the team.. I wonder they mean by "revamped lead in"?

Anyone know why they're broadcasting from the newsroom this weekend and have their weather people outside? Probably a set refresh or something but have they said on air?
