4pm news returning to CBS3. Staffing from within. Their product is already not that great, and now they’re expanding it?!

I assume Dr. Phil moves to 3pm, and Family Feud moves to 57 or off the schedule.
There is no logic behind this , 6 and 10 will crush them in the ratings .

Does anyone think that FOX 29 should cancel some newscasts and keep certain ones like Good Day Monday-Friday and the 10 PM news?
-
They were probably last at that time and the scandal only led KYW's ratings to further continue into freefall. They haven't recovered since and may remain last for the remainder of its history.
And it won't shock me if CBS decides to suspended or cease news operations at the station. CBS shouldn't be spending money on a news operation that's in last place.

Its sad that channel 3 hasn't been relevant for newscasts in the region for quite sometime,. The ratings show it.

If you was running FOX 29, what changes would you make to boost ratings and improve their newscasts and on-air product?

CBS3 needs more male anchors. The station only has 2, and one was converted from a sports guy, the other from a consumer reporter.
Joe Holden fills in as anchor sometimes on CBS3.

Lucy and Iain do a great job, it would be a mistake to replace them.
I don't understand why they separated the 2 from the Monday-Thursday evening newscasts. Lucy solo anchoring the 5 PM, 10 PM news, Iain the 6 PM and 11 PM news. They only anchor together on the Sunday evening newscasts. Can anyone explain to me why that is? Its been that way for a while now. Before this, Lucy and Iain anchored the 5-6:30 PM and 10 PM Monday-Thursday news together and Lucy solo anchored the 11 PM Monday-Thursday newscasts.

Love the new set.Came across what could be WCAU's future set in the Comcast Technology Center:http://kris-cerola.com/#/broadcastdesign/
I'd like to see what the finished product would look like but it looks pretty nice (I'll even forgive them for using the Pittsburgh skyline in the video wall shot).

I don't think this will be the last of the firings. I think more will happen. Changes has to be made with CBS 3's news division, period.

Any thoughts on the welcome America 4th of July coverage on NBC 10 for this year ?

It seems that the CBS 3 news operation has lost its relevance with the viewers in the market and been that way since the NBC days. The ratings and changes over the time reflects that.

Then why spend money on a newscast that 6 and 10 will dominate the 4 PM ratings for news? CBS 3 should have not bothered doing this.
