Did WPIX pick up the Yankee games? On their website about page says “In addition, PIX11 is the first New York over-the-air station to carry both the Mets and Yankees at the same time in their history. PIX11 has been the broadcast home of the New York Mets since 1999, and broadcast home of the Yankees since 2015.”

This only my opinion based on what I saw when she.

 On PIX - she seemed uncomfortable with the small talk banter with the others - not that she had a problem with the others she work with - Betty is a accomplished journalist and this type of fluff talk was going to hurt her credibility that she earned - nobody at fault, just a bad fit for all involved

I Don’t think this news - why would they use the traffic set from a year ago?

WPIX occupies two floors of the Daily News building the second an the tenth The tenth floor has the newsroom the new small aux studio’s that does the NewsNation Cuomo and Abrams show as well as wpix New York living and traffic reports

The second floor originally had the newsroom (before it moved to 10th floor) and the main studio

With th reconstruction, the a main studio was overhauled and the space where the newsroom was is now the new studio for NewsNation (plus control room)

It is the same studio. Just a different camera angle.  \ second picture is where the NewsNation will be

The facts are these: tv stations want more retransmission fees and cable is losing subscribers. Cable needs some help in ririberjustifying paying higher rate and stop the subscriber bleeding. In any case cable will be screwed in the couple of years with the advancements of ATSC3.0 - OTA broadcaster will be easier to receive and Tv will be able offer internet service, cell phone and other data products, even on demand, localized advertisements .so the cable sees the future and it is not good. Cable will go away like landline telephones

Seems like Nexstar sure blew a lot of money building out the Chicago studios for NewsNation, seeing as most new shows are originating out of New York these days.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Marni and Leland's shows are the only ones that still originate from the main Chicago studio, right? And everything else that's still from Chicago originates from the newsroom set?

The main studio for both WPIX and NewsNation has been under construction since last June, so maybe it will finished by April - currently Abrams and Cuomo are done in the WPIX auxiliary studio

Based on the studio design renderings of the new WPIX setup, the KTLA set is a precursor of what to expect at WPIX - very similar

I really would like to see minor league baseball or baseball from other countries - watch these young hungry players develope into major leaguers - and there would be a way to make profitable - sports betting on who would make it to the majors - also I would make the games regional and maybe year round

What I don’t understand is that they keep boasting that they have the news resources of all their station. Here in NYC, PIX broke in with a bulletin, why not show that? In fact to make it look like a NN bulletin, put the reader in front of a green screen with a NN background for the national, and a local branding for the station

Nexstar is also doing a major deconstruction/construction of the WPIX studios for local and NN programs - probably would have the same high tech video walls as NN Chicago

I really do believe that Nexstar will eventually build back WPIX. WPIX really got screwed by there former owners and management. Is it going to happen overnight, no, but at least give Nexstar a chance and stop bringing up the bad decisions made by non-Nexstar management years ago.

The 6 and 10pm should take a harder approach with no jovial news anchors. Bring back the likes of Bill Jorgensen, Jim Watkins, Pat Harper) and used the seasoned reporters only that they have (Murphy, Harry, Ford, Rothschild) and have a news set that does not look like every other news show - have an evening news set that says ‘we mean business no fooling around’

Maybe not a demotion, but maybe a weekend anchor for NN

According to Wikipedia, he was at ABC from 2011-2014, then back at WPIX. His Linkedin isn't complete, just shows WPIX. The WPIX website says "Previously, John co-anchored PIX11 News at 6 and “Midday with Muller,” the station’s first-ever digital-only broadcast." so maybe the digital broadcast was where he was while MIA.

He was on ABC overnight before the evening gig on PIX

Discussions on the implementation of the new TV transmission standard (ATSC 3.0) now being installed in the U.S. (or the world)

I am not sure where this comment belongs in what group, but every thing I see everywhere is speculation on how the TV industry is as of today.

Has anyone heard of Nextgen TV (ATSC 3.0)? Yes it will not happen in a few years, but when it does, OTA tv channels will have capabilities multiple ways of delivering programming content as well as services provided by cable and cell phone companies. All this service provided over the air, no cable. Eventually all devices today (TV, Radios, Cell Phones or anything else that uses a transmitted signal) will use this new technology?

So I would suggest to everyone that the current decisions made these corporations make is not based on current technology but lies ahead for TV. OTA TV is not dead, it is the future.

I hope the moderator of this website would start a thread on this topic. 

Are NewsNation staffer kidding? They are trying to get more viewers, more viewers, more money. Bandied group shouldn’t complain, they had their chance to improve, an as followup from Cuomo, their ratings could improve. Stand united.

IAs a fan, I would love to see minor league baseball - have the cw have a minor league agreement and have local station televise the local mlb farm team - more money for mlb, kids that play hard, and put the fun back in baseball - I love baseball, but I even find it sometimes to be too routine - no enthusiasm 

Does anyone have a good guesstimate on when they could have a functioning studio? Cuomo’s show is stated to start the first week of October

The trouble with 11 is that all of their newscast have the same “light and fluffy, morning type newscast. In the evening, one anchor starts the and the other one finished it  - and the worst evening news commercial is when they say how much like each other - laity an Jim didn’t do that. Stop the damn smiling and report important news with serious and authoritarian way of speaking
