  1. Fox reneged it obligations on servicing NJ and Optimum must have some franchise obligations to the NJ town they service. How can they get away with this? Are they breaking agreements, of course they Are, any retribution no. Why is the happening? Politicians are being greased - both sides/ they all suck

  2. I know NYC stations carry stories for northern NJ and I am sure Philadelphia that stations carry stories for southern NJ - that said, I am surprised that there is not a NJ news program that is produced by owner groups that have stations in NYC and Philadelphia - was this ever tried before? It can be run on one of their sub-channels

  3. As reported in the New York station they are building a new set in their current main studio. Main anchor desk has been temporarily moved to the 10th floor newsroom. Weather and traffic has been move to the new second floor studio being partially used by NN Dan Abrams

  4. Seems like perfect time to update the set since the Daily Mail has been cancelled. I can see the new set with loaded with led’s which will give them quick set changes since their studio is small - during the construction they might use the new NN studio

  5. From the NYC DOB, there is work being done on floors 1, 2 and 3. WPIX has enterance on floor 1 and a studio an old newsroom area on 2 (remember the old Tong/Cafferty news set?) Traffic is done from the old news room. WPIX original tv studio (magic garden, INN news) was done on the 10th. They are now pix offices and newsroom. Would make sense to expand to 3rd floor. Also when the Daily News Building was sold by Tribune, it was grandfathered in that Pix would always have a home at a special rate

  6. What about a show like Live PD but with news stringers? I watch on Youtube (or running in the background) the stringers in NY and its interesting - this show would monitor stringer activity across the country (or world) and put on the most interesting thing happening at that moment

PIX 11 has a well-qualified candidate for this job already on the payroll:  Stacy-Ann Gooden. She is currently the weekend weather anchor, but in a past life, she was the traffic anchor on Fox 5’s Good Day New York in the mid-2000s.

I also do not understand the logic of needing a hybrid traffic/weather anchor. Is it really too much work for Byron Miranda to start with the weather at 4:30 instead of 6:00?

You're kidding right? Do you think Byron comes in at 5:45, gets dressed and jumps on the air? No he is preparing his forecast way before he gets on the air - and he is working till 11:00 - five hours normally on the air, ?? prepping

Also, that Nexstar job link, it was posted 21 days ago

She's doing quite fine in real estate. She doesn't need to be back in TV Business.

Ain't she get bumped for Suki in 2005 and speaking about Suki, I was watching a few old clips of Suki during her WCBS days.  Honestly, only if she would of stayed at WCBS. I guess no one wants to be # 2 behind Dana Tyler.

I really have to laugh at some of these comments on how WPIX staff was treated 5 - 10 years ago. Today there is are entirely different owners, management that had nothing to do with the past, so assume that anything that is done today is based on prior experiences is wrong - Regardless of what may think, this is a business and if the talent, or product, is not making money, they have the right to change it. I see positive things here - I see that they are trying to improve things - and get rid of any garbage that the inept owners and management team left.

And lets forget Jim Watkins or Lynn White - at the end, Lynn White looked like she didn't know what was going on and Jim Watkins - if he is so great what is his history after PIX - WTNH 8? for a short period - I liked Jim, but what ever he did was toxic to his career

  9. Betty has expressed about the morning grind, but based on what KTLA is doing, I can see WPIX expanding into afternoon, so might fill the afternoons with Vanessa.  As for Kala, I think her leaving the anchor spot was more about the pandemic and her family. I expect more news soon. I did see that they added a reporter. Also an expansion on weekends? - again I think anything goes including evenings

Wow! I can't believe I am agreeing with Comcast. What I hope happens, if Comcast wins, companies such as Nexstar, Sinclair, and Scripps have to let go of their secondary "partners". (Mission, Cunningham, and Inyo)

Mission is mentioned (along with Nexstar) on paid advertising blocks
