Ratings are not as bad as people think. KCTV is competitive in the afternoon and evening. They are way behind in the morning.

I noticed Gray is starting to hire for its "daily magazine show," which I presume will begin airing in September at the latest. They say it is not a newscast, but it sure looks like a newscast from the description.

It certainly provided a lot of content for NewsNation tonight. Lambert was on Banfield's show after leaving jail. I know a couple of people who worked with him in other markets, and they say he's a good guy, and that he handled the situation about as well as to be expected.

It looks like the ice has damaged KXAN's (and KLRU) tower. KXAN's OTA signal is off. Edit to add: KLRU's problems appear to have preceded the storm.

I like that second photo; I think they might have to make a rule that the standing desks in the background need to be in the seated position for air. The computer monitors block some of the background. They've alluded to it in the articles, but they're struggling to hire enough people to put more news on the air.
