Kristyn leaves to go to WCPO where Yolanda, will start in July. I think Jerry Revish will retire in May, and by summertime Jeff Hogan/ Yolanda Harris will be the face on the evening news. Carol is set to retire sometime this month from WCPO, and Kristyn, would start at WCPO sometime in April. Kristyn will probably anchor 5-6PM & 7PM http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/top-journalist-and-anchor-kristyn-hartman-joins-wcpo-9-on-your-side http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/life_and_entertainment/2017/01/15/wbns-tv-anchor-hartman-leaving-for-cincinnati.html

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion
Breaking News replied to Smitha A's topic in Corporate Chat
Sinclair giving out plaques to employees from the "Sinclair Connecting" Meeting. Does this mean a Sinclair station can challenge the status quo on someone who's "politics lean the same way Sinclair does"? Just asking... http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/1/11/the-sinclair-meeting -

I wonder if he's being push out of his job with TEGNA being so douchie. That morning news on WWL has been the cat meow, and I wonder about Sally Ann? I wonder if he will pop up over at FOX 8? Alot of WWL's castaways go over to WVUE.

Andrea Cambern is living the good life in California, where her husband is a VP at Chase, so no not coming back, and she doing some freelance work or working part time at the local newsapaper. Kaylor is reitred in Arizona, but doing some commerical work. Nope! Cabot is committed to 4, but let see if that still the case when Nextstar moves in. Mike Davis yeah he was super fat late 90s early 2000s, but looks like he lost some weight. IMO Kelly and Kendrick got on my nerves. Bill Kelly, is too hype up on some drugs, and Robert Kendrick seems too stiff. Bob, worked at WFTS & KUSA, but he get on my nerves. William Kelly, worked at Sacramento, Spokane and Phoenix, but Chris Bradley seems like the sane one vs. Kelly. Chris Bradley scares old ladies (which he was doing and the station had to telling him to calm down) Bill Kelly, seems like he either doped up on meth or Percocet. I will say they made a good team, but I like Yolanda/Gabe/Jerry over Yo/Bob/Bill.

Yes, Wolfes believe in the Q research and Angie was big in Indy, which was one of the reason WISH-TV had so many cracks in it station, by luring her over to WTHR for 400K. Yolanda, might get a bump at 200K with Indy being bigger than Columbus, market. However, the old man is dead the kids don't want the family dynasty anymore. The health of the family company, should be a concern. Once, the station is sold and depending on which media owner takes over those big salaries get slashed. If TEGNA buys it forget it, but if Hearst does then it a win-win for all. As for Chris, the only reason he was able to jump was the former GM worked with him in Detroit, and his Q ratings were high.

Let be-honest with the resurgence of WSYX ratings, and beating WCMH this was WBNS last ditch effort to keep their #1 ratings in tack, but The Wolfe's had to pony up some $$$ for her to jump ship. 4 & 10 have both been courting her many times. I don't see The Family keeping the station as a family owned station. It will be sold to one of the big companies. However, she was the face of the stations brand, but I hope Terri Sullivan who been with WSYX since 1993, will move up to evening shows at least 5,6PM. Sinclair, likes hair models with big tits; not real journalist. It will be interesting to see how this will all come to fruition. WBNS itself has it own drama, and that trying to to stay relevant.

So many WOIO/CBS19 castaways jump over to WKYC. It be nice to see Denise go over to Channel 3, or go back to WJW/FOX8.

Game shows are cheaper to produce, but as for The View if they get the ax after 20 years on the air. I see ABC News would try it best to get Good Afternoon America, however I rather see Joy Behar get her own title talkshow in place of The View if they canned it. Over at CBS since they own The Talk and Chen married to the boss Moonves; I don't see them going away. If a revive soap opera ever came back it would be on new media platform (streaming) not on Broadcast TV. However, ABC at one time was looking of bring back OLTL and AMC in primetime or one of their ABC cable outlets. Also there was a point they were trying to bringing GL back on a streaming platform, but it never came to fruition. There only (4) soaps left and IMO by 2018, I think all (4) will either get cancel or move to another form. CBS- (Y&R) contract runs out Sept 2017 (B&B) the same 2017. NBC- (Days) contract runs out 2017 with a 1 year pick up by the network. ABC- (GH) is owned by the network, so they can get the ax anytime. I can see CBS moving YR &Bold over to Pop TV, but the shows make their money sold overseas and does well internationally. The last (4) will be the last, because it cost 50 million to produce a weekly soap, but I can see CBS if they cut Let Make A Deal to 30 minutes. The other 30 minutes could be a soap where CBS owns the soap outright, because that gives the network more leverage if they own it. Y&R- Sony own(majority of ownership) in association w/ The Bell Family and Corday owns 1%. Days- Sony owned in association w/ Corday Productions. The Bells own Bold outright and ABC owns GH. These network executives of these networks are not invested in soap operas like decades ago. Once these (4) go away it would be either cheap talkshow, another news program, or even a game show.

Can we also expect a new set & graphics package from WJZ in 2017?

At this rate WEWS has lost what is left of their historic legacy with Scripp's cheapness. Despite WOIO's woes I don't see Raycom selling 19/43, because a.) it their largest market they owned next (WWSB/Channel 7 Sarasota, FL) b.) it has to be a cash cow despite their languish in 4th place. Credit has to be given to Applegate who came in and shook the market up. Yes, 19 Action News was brash and in your face. However, it did the job, and it challenged the other three stations in the market. Now, one would of wonder how it would of been if CBS would affiliate itself with WUAB 43 instead of 19 at the time; which had a 10pm news? Again, despite the ax swinging at 19 it still puts out a good product, but they're trying hard to moving away from the in your face, brashness that brought them eyeballs. Now they have a clear, crisp newscast. However, they lost credibility with the puppets doing the court case. If you did an autopsy report on the 4 news operation in Cleveland it should be something to an extend of this; WJW-FOX 8- provides the most local news in the market. The morning news dominate, the evening news 3.5hrs. it was once O&O by FOX, and one of CBS' highest affiliates during their tenure as CBS affiliate. Great operation, newscast just needs an updated look with (set/graphics). WKYC- Channel 3- Doesn't compete at Noon or 5pm. Over the last 18 years it product has gotten better with time. The once station that was a third place doormat has overcome a lot of challenges, and there still work in progress. Still pours out a good newscast, but their biggest issue is their parent company. WOIO- Cleveland 19- Ever since 1994 switch from FOX to CBS it has tried to compete with the big three stations in the market. It has made some inroads in the early 2000s, which helped their cause. Still in 4th place in most newscast, somewhat competitive. In 1995, it only had a 6/11pm news. Now 21 years later provides AM, Noon, 4,5,6,11PM (9,10PM news on sister station WUAB 43). It gone from splash & trash to a more conservative newscast. Despite ownership woes it logo is polished unlike the folks on Euclid Ave. WEWS-Channel 5- First in Ohio TV station to go on the air in 1947, and how the mighty has fallen. Once the dominate station in the market. Where it once pre-empt GMA for it own locally produce morning show; The Morning Exchange. No longer carries Wheel/Jeopardy, it newscast ratings have fallen. The station newscast not as strong, and for this to be the flagship station with the company name as your call letters. E.W.S-but how can Channels 3 & 19 news be more attractive than WEWS-TV5? Biggest woes is the parent company, and the company legacy has gone out the window. When your station brand identity looks like it was created by a 7 year old? One would wonder what would Dorothy Fuldheim have to say about this if she was alive?

I don't see Robin jumping over to 19, but she did some work with 3 a year ago, and wouldn't be surprise of WKYC/Channel 3 snatch Denise Dufala up. Denise was one of the originals when 19 switch to CBS back in 1994.

I think WGCL46 has the right people in place, but they just can't stop being dysfunctional. I did see with Amanda, doing the Morning news somewhat making WXIA a competitive in the AM where both tied in third place. However, there needs to be tough love to Ms. Davis. Meanwhile Meredith isn't a bad company, if WOIO/19 & KTVT/11 could from the gutter to compete with the three big dogs; then WGCL/46 can do the same thing as well too. It just needs to stop with the shit show.
