  1. They would still have political money galore...it is Ohio, after all...
  2. Now that I think about it, the deal probably is NOT legal. KSPR is a low-power station; the previous signal is defunct. That would presumably mean that the order is this: 1 - KYTV 2 - KOLR (NR - KSPR) 3 - KRBK 4 - KOZL Unless KRBK is in the Fort Smith-Fayetteville, Kansas City or Columbia-Jefferson City market?
  3. Tegna could use a duopoly partner. That would be prime for them.
  4. They already have a duopoly there though? They'd have to shut down or sell KOZL.
  5. That's a long Speculatron post in the making too. And I see one difficult, but workable, possibility...which is a 180 of old rumors.
  6. They need to clean house at management more than anything - need to fire their GM, their VP, their ND, etc.. Is it hurting them in ratings (has WHP or WPMT caught them)? I know WGAL dominates the market.
  7. WFXG is for sale; Gray is keeping what they have. They only have one full-power station (WAGT was sold off).
  8. Wouldn't Sinclair's NTV have a case for the Nebraska Panhandle as well? Or have they conceded it to Gray?
  9. To be honest, I think all the ex-WV Media stations could use new logos.
  10. It's becoming clear Nexstar is phasing them out. Although I'd be curious to figure out what they could have come up with for the ex-MG markets?
  11. Out of curiosity, how would that logo look with a 9 on WNCT? It is probably very workable by maintaining the font and rounding the 7 to a 9. It would look weird on some numbers, but the placement of the CBS eye would actually work well for WNCT too. It would look really awkward with a "round bottom" number like 3, 5, 6, 8 or 0 though, and even with a 1, 2 or 4 it wouldn't look as good.
  12. Same logo as WSPA as well. I wonder if a rebranding of WNCT is coming? Also by calling it CBS North Carolina, they would have had to get WFMY (at times rumored) and WBTV (not going to happen unless they make a trade for it) to complement it.
  13. In Nebraska, everything west of the Sioux City and Omaha markets should be part of a single Lincoln-North Platte-Kearney market. The North Platte DMA would be eliminated.
  14. My opinion is that the DMAs should be: * Denver counties in SE Wyoming --> Cheyenne * Salt Lake counties in SW Wyoming --> Casper (Gray has set precedence there with KGWR) * Denver counties in NE Wyoming --> Casper * Teton County is OK in Idaho Falls, while the northern counties in Billings are okay there (Sheridan should join them) * Crook and Weston are OK in Rapid City
  15. WIFR was not shut down for FCC reasons, it was because they sold the spectrum and there was little loss in downsizing to a LD signal due to the small footprint of the Rockford market.
  16. Legacy is just a speculator as well?
  17. I would expect KCWY/NBC to be placed on 5.2 in Lander and 13.2 in Rock Springs as well. They might have room to place CW on 5.3 and 13.3?
  18. Sorry, Mr. Armstrong Williams, but your claim of buying it is purely fake news now!
  19. For all that Gray has in that region, they don't have a single station in Montana.
  20. Since the chances of Gray getting a station in Atlanta is near zero, WRDW may be their de facto flagship...
  21. As a smaller market station, there is no incentive to cut costs there since they are already much lower than at the bigger TEGNA stations. Plus, their competition is a joke in comparison.
  22. Regarding Mark Hyman, now is not the time for jokes. A brain tumor is extremely serious.
  23. Is that even legal? Could Hearst sue them for trademark laws?
  24. Maybe he or she got laid off in the MG acquisition.
  25. You do have a point there. It might have an excellent case for the failing station waiver as well.
