David Ushery has just confirmed on his facebook that he will be anchoring daily at 5:30 with Shiba...Rob Schmitt to anchor weekend evenings...Didn't mention if he's also anchoring at Noon.

Apparently it's something new that just started this week. Rather then just having Shiba & Chuck anchor the entire 5 pm hour, They decide to split the newcast in half with Sibila & Chuck anchoring the first half and then Shiba & so far David anchoring the second half...lame if you ask me. Personally I hope it's just a placeholder until WNBC decides on a permanent replacement for Tom be it someone hired from the outside, or a promotion from within at which point Shiba & Tom's replacement will most likely anchor the entire 5 pm hour.

I think what they should do is have Chuck and Sibila anchor at 5 and then have David and Shiba at 6...or just keep it the way they had it.

So what you are saying is that the people who watch the other stations went on vacation, or maybe they went to pix for the news

Could be or just less people watch TV in the middle of summer which is why the networks don't care much for the July sweeps period.

Looks like they've hired a billboard truck to tout their recent success over WNBC and WNYW.

Not that I'm hating on pix...I understand they'll take any win they can get but isn't kind of sad that they are taunting their competitors like people tuned over pix all because of John Muller. (Not knocking John, but come on) The real challenge is once the TV Season officially starts in a month. Did they really win at 5 or did more people opt to not watch the other channels in the middle of July leaving Pix with more views by default? Spin away!

Harry is John Chandlers fill in and also does general assignment reporting...And I don't see Bruce Beck leaving wnbc any time soon...Also does it look like they are getting a new set anytime in the near future?...

A big part of it is still the on air talent.... A lot (if not all) TV shows work or don't work because of who is on the screen...I still think they don't have a solid team in place YET (mostly in the morning)...while the evenings with Tamsen and Scott hasn't quite molded together yet...Also I don't know how anyone else feels but a big part of why GDNY is pretty much #1 or at least neck in neck with Today and GMA is because of the chemistry between Greg and Rosanna while it seems to me like Kori and Suki appear to be stiff together...While PIX shouldn't copy wnyw and make it onto the soup every week, they need to get buzz around their show but with better content, anchor teams, a better set and without dumb, cheap and desperate gimmicks. As someone earlier said, they have to decide whether or not to be PIX news or PIX entertainment news.

I must be in the minority because I actually like Contessa and I think that Gus should be utilized more and have a permanent anchor spot instead of just filling in. Carol Jenkins did weekends on Channel 4 for 20 years and then got promoted to weekday anchor so it is possible for Pat to get a weekday spot but I think that Pat enjoys working on weekends and is satisfied with her current role as a reporter.

Exactly, I believe Pat prefers reporting during the week and anchoring on the weekends (In my opinion its the perfect gig) ...I do think that while Pat is great anywhere she goes she should be on the mornings with Gus and Contessa should anchor evenings with David.

News 4 NY Olympic/Sweeps promos called "Why Turn- Coverage" for Today in NY, News 4 NY and Storm Team 4.

My question is will wnbc use this new package for their newscasts? I think they should and while their at it incorporate a talent open.

What I'm wondering is will these new promo graphics and music transfer to the newscasts too? I just don't get why they would use different graphics for promos than their newscasts. That being I said do like the new promo graphics and music.

Damn! I'm missed that...what desk were Chuck at Sibila Sitting at and where was is? I always liked when they would have two desks idk why.
