VARTV is reporting that WVEC will soon launch a 4 PM newscast. This comes on the heels of WAVY's new 4 PM show, which launches Monday.

 

No word yet on when the new show will debut, or who will anchor it.

On Monday, February 24th, WTKR's "First at 4" is getting some competition. WAVY will debut its 4pm newscast.

I was wondering when they'd step up to the plate and do this. Supposedly 3 blows everyone else out of the water ratings-wise at 4. Then again, they say they blow everyone else out of the water everywhere else, too.

 

Another vintage Tampa Bay open (Very hard to come by!). It's WTOG-44 circa early 80's:

 

 

This seems to be inspired by a mix of the early 80s Corinthian look (gradient lines) and the "And You" look (text - do we have a proper name for this?). And it's incredibly well-done.
