  1. As an aside, you know it's gotten bad when you're actually excited for the fact that over on B&B, Brooke and Taylor finally both kicked Ridge to the curb. The writers must've finally taken notice that we're sick of watching these two now-grandmothers battling each other over that man. 30+ years of it was more than enough.
  2. NBC basically gave the peacock a chemical peel and a little filler in the beak.
  3. Here's what can I see happening: Eventually, CBS drops WANF and moves to the station it already owns here, WUPA, and perhaps change the call letters to WCBA (CBS Atlanta/CBS News Atlanta), as the current WUPA calls are a reference to the long-defunct UPN. This will allow to WANF to run more news and operate it as a true news-heavy channel, since that seems to be the brand they're trying to go for anyway. And then CBS can essentially do what they're doing in Detroit and establish a legit locally-run news operation instead of the Dallas-produced newscasts they're airing currently. As for The CW, or what of it will exist at that time, Gray can sell WPCH (which essentially won't be "needed" once CBS leaves WANF) off to Nexstar and then that can basically become Atlanta's version of KTLA/WGN/WPIX, etc.
  4. He spent some time here in Atlanta back in the mid-90s at WXIA alongside Angela Robinson during their brief "11 News (sans -Alive)" period. Saying this as a Black person: Yeah, in this day and age, this is pretty cringe and probably would've just been best not done, lest it got exactly the response that it did. But, seeing as the style of the wig itself was more evocative of Bob Ross, Gene Shalit, and Alex Trebek when he was the host of "High Rollers", rather than, say, a Don Cornelius fro, I don't think he meant any harm. It's one of those acting without thinking moments.
  5. Which is kind of ironic seeing that Bob Chapek has become infamous (at least amongst fans of Disney's theme parks, like myself) for being a penny pincher, often being referred to as "Bob Cheapeck". It's like he's making all these cuts that have taken away a bit of the "magic" of going to the parks, but they have the money to spare on a logo change at ABC that's not really necessary at all, or even noticeable to the untrained eye.
  6. I could see her doing "special" interviews for CBS, kind of akin to Barbara Walters Specials over at ABC. Of course, there was that brief period a couple years ago where she was a special contributor for 60 Minutes.
  7. WHTM was ripping off half of Chicago in that clip. Not only did they have a WBBM-style opening, but they had WLS-style lower thirds.
  8. It looks like they're testing out the full package here in Atlanta at WUPA before rolling out to the "bigger" O&Os.
  9. "Guess, what, Trish? YOU'RE THE M*********N IMPROPER INFLUENCE!"
  10. I gather this was what Justin wanted, in order to spend his evenings with his family, per replies on Jovita's post.
  11. I’m surprised no one’s yet mentioned Craig Lucie’s departure from WSB.
  12. ACK! WXIA’s new logo...
  13. I suppose they’ll be the Chet and Nat of Cincinnati.
  14. My eyes are burning...
  15. I actually heard that in Ron Howard's voice, Arrested Development-style.
  16. Well, it looks like Erin Coleman is leaving WSB, according to a post on her Facebook page. She says with one young child and another on the way, she wanted to move back to her hometown in Philadelphia. One wonders if she's "moving closer to her world". Any speculation who her replacement may be? Now, I know there's been lots of talk about Stefany Fisher going to Fox 5, but this could be a viable opening for her as well.
