  1. I guess so. Perhaps either Dana is on her way out on Don is on his way back. I would guess that later is more likely because why else have have someone from CBS News fill in when pleanty of people from WCBS could have subbed instead. Who's on tonight?

Guess it was too much to ask Dana Tyler to fill in.
  2. Perhaps tho I can also see NBC wanting someone younger.

I think NBC does not even want to think about a replacement. Lester is highly valued at NBC, he brings stability, steadiness and respectability to the network and they will find a way to keep him at NBC as long as they can. Also Lester is universally respected by viewers so him leaving NBC would impact the brand and if goes to another network, that network will only benefit. Lester is not only popular at Nightly News but also Dateline. Dateline is the most popular newsmagazine and has grown in it's younger viewership during Lester's tenure.
  3. I'm surprised ABC even had World News Tonight on given I don't ever recall an evening newscast airing at 4:30 Eastern Time.

We’re not going to agree on this so I’m just going to walk away from the discussion. I don’t think it’s appropriate for World News Tonight to broadcast the newscast from the Red Carpet of a major entertainment show. They’ve never done the show from the Red Carpet and ABC has had the Oscars for decades now. It’s like tuning into E! News for election coverage or ESPN for a high speed chase. It’s in poor taste and I’m not looking to get my news of the day from someone standing on the Red Carpet.

You are, so fine - we can disagree on that.

  4. That's a real possibility.

Interesting note - Steve Lacy filled in at 6:00 for Ernie.... usually this is Teresa, Alison, Kerry or Christina. I actually don’t remember Steve filling in since he and Ernie swapped.

When they do these bizarre subs, it always makes me think that changes are coming.... I wonder if they are seeing how Steve does with Ernie’s style, and maybe one of the others will take his spot at 5.

  5. They gave all her that money to leave Fox News tho they aren't so sure about Megyn otherwise she would have been given the co anchor position.

I was speaking with my mother about the article and she told me “if NBC was so sure about Megyn they would have given her the co anchor position.” Which is interesting - they’re paying her all this money and not using her fully.
  6. I think Joan and Charlie are still the longest morning team. I think they top Katie and the rapist.

This is an opinion I can agree with. The notion that Michael is only good at football and breathing, and fails at every aspect of this role is silly. I firmly agree that he should not appear alongside George and Robin for the first half hour or two, but he is more than capable of being on the panel and contributing when they move upstairs.

Fun fact: it's hard to believe, but Robin and George have quietly become the 2nd-longest tenured anchor duo in GMA's history, only behind Charlie and Joan.

  7. I think that's telling about the terms Ann and NBC remain on that Ann is going to CBS and not NBC to tell her story.

Ann Curry is going to be on CBS This Morning tomorrow--her first TV interview since 2015.
