  1. It's not just that they think they'll beat Action News. It's that we all know they won't. Not even by half.

I don't think they're gonna even reach NBC10 because they have a more improved and much better news product to watch. CBS3 is getting better, but not enough to reach 10.

Question: how come in Philadelphia they always talk about Action News having the oldest and most respected talent. However NBC10 is second and I'm pretty sure only Glenn Schwartz, Vai Sikahema, and Bill Henley have been there a long time. CBS3 has older talent like Ukee Washington, Walt Hunter, Natasha Brown, and Lesley Van Arsdall. How come they're not close to 10?

  2. Nicole was the weekend morning anchor. She was just filling in once Ukee got promoted to nights.

Nicole anchored with Ben Simmoneau(Now at WNYW) and Todd Quinones who left for Las Vegas earlier before Todd just started reporting and fill in anchoring and Ben left for NYC. Nicole needed a co-anchor. I don't think she's really good at solo anchoring.

  3. CBS3 let go all of the good people and then replaces them with young people that cannot report the news

Not necessarily. Larry Mendte screwed himself up and Marc Howard retired. Only Chris May was actually let go. Alycia Lane also screwed herself up, no matter how much she was warned.

  4. They're better off auditioning Tracy for the 6pm & 10pm and pairing her with Greg Argos or some other male hire. Ukee & Jessica could do 5pm & 11pm. They can fill the co-anchor position with a male and still have the lighter material (see John Muller WPIX when he did mornings or Neil Orne WKRN). A bit ironic as CBS This Morning is complete opposite.

Agreed. Ukee and Jessica shouldn't be anchoring all newscasts.

  5. FTVlive reporting that CBS 3 has been interviewing candidates for morning anchors--the latest being Tracye Hutchins from Atlanta.

They shouldn't be looking for women in my opinion. The station is filled with them. CBS3 is lacking male talent right now, and without Ukee and Bob there anymore, it's really just becoming a giggle show. I'm not against having a woman, but I believe having a male anchor will keep seriousness in the newscast so CBS3 doesn't become WTXF or even WFSB in Hartford, CT. (Their morning team is uncontrollable)

  6. There have been commercials about Nicole Brewers new segments at 11pm. It is called "Good Question". Every night they answer a Good Question. I do not see this lasting at all.

Well, this was probably Brien Kennedy's idea since he came from WCCO where they have done this same segment has been done for a few years.

  7. The "Most Watched Station in Philadelphia" doesn't necessarily translate to the "Most Watched News Team" and clearly doesn't equal the most professional or best new product. Just saying.

I know, but what I mean is if the viewers from the game will leave it on KYW because they need news, or their just don't care to change the channel

  8. Mr G. is a venerable instutition in nyc?! how can you fire him?! if you fire him who's scott stanford gonna wind up?! also jim and Kaity should have NEVER BEEN fired/demoted to weekends same with Sal Marchiano(was fired) , but i think tamsen should be fired cause she is more interested in her sex/relationship self help book promotions then news, i cant take her seriously.

It's true; Tamsen just can't be taken seriously. WPIX is just a mess right now. I don't think anyone will be able to get it to where it was again.

  9. Anyone notice they now have Kate Bilo sitting on the far left of the desk, near Ukee, and Don Bell sitting on the right, near Jessica? Isn't the weather center/green screen on the far right of the set?

I tweeted them and they said they've been playing games like Rock Paper Scissors and thumb wars to decide. Plus, the green screen is in the back of the set behind the cameras.

  10. But has anybody dethroned Action News in all newscasts in a certain time frame? NO. Action News has won the Philly news ratings for 40 years. That's not changing anytime soon. Besides, I love their station, Jim Gardner, MCTYW and their news van again!

Let's also not forget, back at 6 & 11 in the early-to mid 2000's, Action News was pretty close to getting beat when Larry Mendte was at CBS3 and NBC10. Also, if Jim Gardner asked for too much money, I know ABC-Disney would let him go in a heartbeat. He really means nothing to management.
