  1. re: the WISH-TV/WTTV situation. That will be an absolute shitshow if that happens. DuJuan McCoy is still battling it out with DirecTV and Dish three years later, but I could also see CBS being a factor in forcing DirecTV/Dish to negotiate to his terms. WISH-TV has become very odd in the last few years, being a hybrid of a minority-focused station and a general news station. It also still has the news partnership with WIBC, a right-wing talk station, on the other hand.
  2. Remember when WRTV had that WLS knockoff package from 2007 up until Scripps bought McGraw-Hill's TV holdings? I thought it was pretty good for an obvious knockoff package.
  3. If Malone is involved, of course it'll go. He somehow miraculously got Time Warner Cable-Bright House Networks-Charter's mega-merger to go without question from the DOJ.
  4. Or they could get a new building. They've been at Network Place at Park 100 since 2005 (when WTTV/WXIN moved out of their even smaller facility on Meridian), but I think that's unlikely.
  5. Anyone know if there's anything with Tegna and YT TV? WTHR is blacked out on my guide, even though I'm in the Indy region.
  6. It looks like Andrea Morehead, former WTHR reporter, is suing the station and Tegna for failing to provide ADA accomodations for her breast cancer, as well as retaliation and harassment. Lawsuit document found here.
  7. WXIN and WTTV now have the "Keep My Station" disclaimers on them. Indy is just getting royally screwed over on local stations for DISH/DirecTV subscribers. https://keepmystation.com/fox59/ https://keepmystation.com/wttv/
  8. Looks like TEGNA might be close to a dispute with DIRECTV/ATT Uverse: https://www.wthr.com/att https://www.10tv.com/att https://www.whas11.com/att In my market, this would make 4 stations (WISH, WTHR, WNDY, WALV-CD) that AT&T isn't carrying, WISH/WNDY for well over a year now. AT&T is a company built on pure greed.
  9. It's what kind of ticks me off about this forum. If you don't like Trump or whatever, that's a valid thought, I think a lot of people don't really like him. But a lot of people here seem to dislike the idea of anything like playing the national anthem, because of whatever reason it might be. I don't think playing the SSB is anywhere near nationalism, and it really bugs me that people think this way, that somehow being proud of where you live is a bad thing.
  10. Ah yes, back when all Nexstar stations had the budget of a ham sandwich. Funny how far they've come.
  11. WISH isn't on it yet, but that's assuming Nexstar does indeed sell WISH/WNDY.
  12. Another re-trans dispute. Looks like Nexstar and Metronet. https://www.wishtv.com/keep-wish-and-wndy
  13. I always though WRTV's graphics looked terribly cheap for a market Indy's size in the mid 90's:
  14. What other stations? I guess I'm not up to speed on this. I know WTHR, and now KNXT.
  15. WRTV's open looked weird around then.... It looks cheap. No effects, just a zoom in on the WRTV logo.
  16. From what I can remember last time I was in Denison, Texas (my dad has an office down there), they pretty much just use "ABC Texoma" for everything else but the newscasts. They don't even put the station logo in the corner of the end of network promos.
  17. Didn't Dispatch have a thing with Dish a few years back? I can clearly remember WTHR talking about being pulled from Dish Network.... I guess I'm just not as far in on TV news operations, but how does this work? Does American Spirit have different contracts from Raycom? So if Mission has a dispute with DirecTV, for example, Nexstar stations would continue to stay?
  18. More retrans disputes. This time, it's WTHR and DirecTV/AT&T U-verse. http://www.wthr.com/attention-directv-and-att-u-verse-subscribers
  19. One of the McDonald's here in Carmel, Indiana does the same thing.
  20. Did Scripps can The Now? WRTV isn't airing it anymore, moving Judge Judy back to 4 and putting Right This Minute on at 3.
  21. It's like they tried to combine WNBC's old open with WPVI's open, but failed miserably.
  22. Oklahoma's Own.... KTVU Plus.
  23. WISH-TV meteorologist Randy Ollis announced on Wednesday he has stage one lymphoma. Also, WTHR anchor Scott Swan suffered a health scare that nearly killed him, causing him to lose 50% of his blood. Best wishes to both of them, and hope that they recover soon.
  24. Speaking of spectrum auctions from a page ago, Ball State announced they will not sell their PBS station WIPB in the auction after all. http://www.thestarpress.com/story/news/local/2017/02/13/bsu-wont-take-wipb-off-air/97846082/
  25. Damnit, too late to post it's a done deal. Wonder how long it'll be till the crappy "your(market)matters" domains take effect for the MG stations.
