Have you got any WCVB or WJAR newscasts?

I know I've posted this a couple of months ago but new pieces of graphics from Canal 13 in Buenos Aires have been uploaded recently on YouTube:

These are commercials and promos seen overnight back in 2001, when the station was using some beautifully designed graphics mixing colored liquids and fire.

And here's a transition between shows:

Of course, any discussion of SNG truck promos feels incomplete without a mention of "Beyond the Nut Tree" with Leslie Nielsen:

 

It's a great promo! I assume that Mr. Nielsen collected thousands of bucks for performing there:)

Here are some interesting pieces from Canal 12 in Córdoba, Argentina.

This ID was used for many years and emulated the Nine Network's legendary city and space view ID.

It was designed in Brazil at Rede Globo's Rio de Janeiro headquarters.

And finally, an opener for their noon news from Wednesday, February 14, 2001.

I'm in love with Eddie Sierra's works. He's like our Frank Gari. Most of his early themes for TV (late '80s-2006) reminded me, in some way, of Gari's.

From the Twin Cities, an interesting 1980s promo for KSTP's Newstar SNG truck:

 

It reminded me of a WCVB promo of 1985, also promoting their Newstar 5 mobile unit, and even with the same slogan "No story is beyond your reach".

This theme used by a TV station in Uruguay (back in 2002) sounds like production music and it's great!

From Spain, the last newscast from Telemadrid before tomorrow's launch of a brand-new look:

 

I hope this relaunch will be great, despite their newscasts are a little bit tabloid.

I'm working on finishing up that Northeastern Trip around Thanksgiving 1992. Still need to find Providence and the rest of Boston, but there still is more to come... (I apologize in advance if there are bits of newscasts - particularly in the middle - missing. Had I known then what I know now...)

This ID from ATeCe (Canal 7, Buenos Aires) was used between February and July of 1996.

It was short-lived, rejected by the station executives and the audience. I think that they would have given a chance to it, because it was superb by the time.

The executives were forced to reinstate its legendary logo, and here's the way they used to promote it.

It is production music, and I believe it's in 615's Platinum Series.

Canal 7 (Buenos Aires) was using a theme that resembles a lot of 615's Impact, around 2001.

And here's what I promised on Saturday. Telefe premiered a new set for their newscasts today, and it's really amazing!

Here's an excerpt of tonight's 8PM news.

Jennifer Ward (later with KYW, WTXF and CTV News) anchoring a weekend newscast at CFTO in 1989.

I'm in love with this CFTO theme used between 1989 and 1998 (music starts at 29:09)

Novocom designed these beautiful IDs and bumpers for Portugal's RTP, back in 1998.

They really made look this channel more European.

Telefe's newscasts used this Bedrock song as its news theme between 1999 and 2000:

Jorge Marchetti and a "young" Santo Biasatti were the anchors of Canal 11's evening news in 1984.

Announcer Rafael Monzón teases some of the stories they'll have later at 7PM.

Portugal's SIC 8PM news open from April 22, 2000. Nuno Santos anchors the news from Coroa Vermelha Beach, 500 years after the discovery of Brazil by navigator Pedro Álvares Cabral.

This WHDH headline cut for their late newscasts was great!

Argentina's TV Pública premiered a new set and graphics for their newscasts yesterday.

It's an interesting innovation.
