Truth about Magers. As for Tuck, agreed on the commentaries. He also did them in San Diego while at KGTV. He went after local government/officials etc. too. Some group had t-shirts made that read- Tuck Sucks and that’s my perspective! RIP Mike Tuck. -

A great period at KNBC. They were just about to take the lead back from KABC. The set was designed by Gil Jimenez. A set design pioneer. And a great guy. I worked with him on a set in 2003.

Motion Graphics agencies that did news graphics in the late 90s?
Metrodonmartin replied to JosephH1998's topic in Graphics
KGET’s gfx in the late 90’s through 2009 or so we’re done in house by Eye Street Productions. Their commercial production division. Eye Street also did the same package for KGPE, KCOY and I believe KION. -
Yup. Came back to the market. Was in Bako at KERO as News and Sports Director in late 70’s into 1980. Returned to Bako and KGET. Later became media guy for the Kern County Superintendent of Schools.

Networks are going away. The GM here has already made the comment, “do we really need to be a CBS/network affilliate ? They are banking on creating a local brand. CBS owns a station in Atlanta. Gray is well aware that CBS most likely will pull an NBC BOSTON type move in ATLANTA. Gray is smart to create a non CBS yet local brand.

Looks like TVBD. Television by Design. -
BDI did the studio set and the desk for the KPRC newscenter.
-
Set by Gil Jimenez
-
Both sets by Pencillogic
-
Gil Jimenez Broadcast Design did the WABC set
-
These are Express Group sets BDI set.
-
Would have see a pic to say. Their current set is from BDI. The previous 3 were Park Place sets. These sets are by Gil Jimenez. They had a few tweaks and updates over the years.
-
Another EXPRESS GROUP set.
-
The Express Group. Update by FX. The Express Group. Update by FX. Set by PDG. Now known as Jack Morton. Great set for its time.
-
The top 2 look like BDI designs. The last 4 ( 3 of WEWS and last of WJW ) are Pencil Logic sets. They did great work in the 90’s- KPIX, KWGN, WGN, KMGH, WJZ and many more. They were the first to use acrylic tops for anchor desks too.

I worked with Chad at Cinemagic on 3 graphics packages (1998-2004) for KBAK-TV in Bakersfield. They did great work. -

Cinemagic. Did great work. I used them for 3 custom packages from 98-2005 -
Actually that is the WNEV/KCBS/WVTM theme. Used briefly after the failed newswheel format in 1986-87. After that was the rebrand to Action News and the VTS custom KCBS theme.

It’s been back. It was just replaced for election night coverage.
-
Not really a new logo. It’s the same 4 logofont. They just dropped the very dated tv screen surround.

Appreciate your views. I just disagree. NBC News reporters are no more biased than any others. Maddow and the other opinion show hosts on MSNBC are getting record numbers. Especially good in the demo. NBC is delighted for that. MSNBC has refocused during the day to basically the NBC News Channel. Evenings are opionion shows. Record ratings on both dayparts. My NBC News colleagues in management are very happy and their research is a majority of positives for the first time in the history of the cable network.

Muir is leading in the $$ demo and in HH numbers more than not. Holt’s numbers inherited from Williams have slowly slipped away. ABC has been the only one to build an audience recently while both NBC and CBS are trending down. So at the end of day it may not matter what those of us in the business or those of you who are news fans think... the viewers think Muir and ABC are it currently.

Yup. That’s Gil Jimenez. He was a part of Graphics Express. Later G and G Designs. Now Gil Jimenez Broadcast Design.
