  1. Apparently both MSNBC and NBC doesn't want to lose Willie Geist so he is working towards a rare deal with both. Longtime anchor Willie Geist in talks to remain at both MSNBC and NBC after Comcast’s cable spinoff: source
  2. When I woke up at 4:30 this morning I noticed that Early Today was airing and that NBC10 News Today didn’t start until 5. I noticed the same schedule for tomorrow as well. Not sure if this is permanent as on Monday they started at 4.
  3. We’ll see how this works. There already is a nightly newscast with long-form reporting called the PBS Newshour and adding 60 minutes like elements sounds a little like PBS to me but in a half hour format.
  4. https://puck.news/norah-odonnell-is-leaving-cbs-evening-news/ Puck News says that they will move away from a single anchor and rotate between different ones.
  5. Interesting the post says that they are looking for someone who likes to “geek out over weather”. Seems like they are aiming for someone going and hip. Do they need to improve ratings in the younger demographic?
  6. Wow! Was not expecting this but each newscast they add seems to do well and should provide a nice prime time alternative.
  7. https://www.today.com/news/laura-jarrett-weekend-today-anchor-rcna98847 Laura Jarrett joins Saturday Today
  8. Not much of a surprise but just saw a promo that Tamron Hall is moving to 2, where Rachael Ray was.
  9. New graphics this morning.
  10. Just saw a promo for Kaitlan Collin’s nightly show which is now called The Source with Kaitlan Collins.
  11. This morning they did a report on A.I. and it opened with a clip featuring Deborah Norville. https://youtu.be/OFWuX3XOT5A
  12. Watching the show this morning and Hoda is still out. Hopefully she is alright. Savannah and Sheinelle opened the show but at the 7:30 half hour Sheinelle said that Savannah had to leave so it was her and Al anchoring. Guess they didn’t have anyone else to fill in. Craig was out on the scene. covering the Alex Murdaugh trial. Update: Willie joined the show after she tested positive for COVID.
  13. I think WFMZ 69 will still air it. They air it in prime time every night at 9 and they need programs that aren’t too expensive.
  14. When they did the prime time special, Rick quickly mentioned that Monica had retired. This isn’t the case since she’s now a reporter at Nasdaq so it feels like that something negative happened between her and 6. Yes, she got a farewell mention but it seemed small considering she had been at the station for a long time and had become a popular household name.
  15. This morning Frances Wang is anchoring solo.
