That's Evolution, one of a few packages SAM made with the Spirit signature.
Nice to know. Still makes little sense to me how a station in SW Lousiana has that theme...

Back to the Raycom rollout. KPLC has the WMC package.

Hmm...using the Spirit theme (or whatever version of it Stephen Arnold made)?

Would be nice to know what their plans are for those stations, including KFWD.
I can't really imagine much else. They'll just put their programming and try to make it an international news hub. They'll also add a few randoms subchannels in the mix to reel some people in...and that's about it

It is a bit minimalist which I like but the animations and the stats popping out of the side are unnecessary

Weren't WISH/WNDY off AT&T last summer in the Nexstar dispute? What's Circle City trying to prove here?
The owner is getting a bit greedy after that payday from Byron Allen...

Amen...I wouldn't mind hearing This Is Home make a comeback. It was actually a great music pkg.
Either that or the broken fax theme

Am I losing my mind for actually really liking that new logo?
Nah. It's simple and too the point. Not too many elements there unlike the last logo

KGAN just launched with a horrid black and yellow, and a horrid voiceover:
Yea...that was bad

So it looks like KMGH is not using the new musics in their opens.
I don't blame them

'GN Sports' launches tonight, and I can't stress enough how much I love this look. The evolution of logos is so nice.
I guess this is a sports recap show?

Heres a 1990 KXLY news open (skip to 11:30)
Nice to see that they are consistent with lackadaisical opens

Any bets if NBC would buy 'KYC back?
Unlikely ATM. Tegna will never let WKYC go

Scripps gets nailed with a $1.13 million fine from the FCC in an investigation from the ex-Cordillera stations over tower lighting and maintenance at 10 facilities in 5 states. Cordillera also had failed to notify the FCC of its purchase of two antenna structures.
That'll teach them

No station in the US would be broadcasting in 16:9 in the analog era. This must be something the uploader or YouTube did. It would be technically impossible unless they were broadcasting a letter boxed feed. However many cameras and technology were only 4:3.
That is what the YouTuber did. Used the ol Turner-style stretch-o-vision and upscaled the feed to 720p...

If anyone ever thought combining that god-awful C-Clarity with the WNEP National Anthem was possible....
You're welcome.

--Is that the only non-ABC/Cap Cities station to use those graphics? I can't remember the look being on anything beyond them.
WKBW also used these graphics and the then CBS affiliate KFSN used it too.

Here we have a WBZ 11 PM News intro on Boxing Day 1986 (jump to 33:40)

WDTN had an interesting open back in 75. Looks like they went the Action News route without the theme

KXLY couldn't have made this any more blatant if they try
-
Looks like NewsNet is coming to my area
(WDFL)
It's about time, I guess
