Everything posted by Superdude

  1. WPXI weekend anchor Ryan Huston tested positive for Covid-19.
  2. Longtime reporter Bob Allen retired from KDKA-TV 2 today at the end of the 6:00 newscast.
  3. Former KDKA-TV (2) reporter, Christine D’Antonio announced today that she is returning to the air at WPXI (11) effective next week.
  4. Silverman sowed the seeds that led to the big turnaround. The network was such a mess, it wasn't going to ve a quick fix.
  5. Probably posted before, but lots of great promos here.... WTAE-TV 25th Anniversary- Dec. 16, 1983
  6. Ed McMahon was Johnny Carson's sidekick but he didn't get billing either.
  7. I think 5's logo is clean and sharp looking. The 5 is bold unlike 'Circle 3.' The 5 also pops against the blue and doesn't have the distracting outline like some past logos had. For 8, so many fox locals have the same boring, corporate look.
  8. Actually WTOV used it until the summer olympics in '88 when they debuted a new logo with the '86 peacock.
  9. KDKA: 1993 series on the Pittsburgh radio scene at the time.
  10. I just rescanned and dabl is on a new 2.3 and starttv is still on 2.2
  11. DABL, the new 'live well'-esque cbs diginet came on the air at 2pm on kdka 2.0. Crossing Jordan and starttv were on at 1, martha stewart is on now. Soft launch I guess, samething happened with Decades.
  12. Last month KDKA quitely added a 2hr Sunday Morning newscast from 7-9. Bumping an hour of cbs e/i, joel osteen and a public affairs program. Both TAE and PXI have had neescasts there since the 90s.
  13. A compilation of channel 2 promos, mainly from the 80s and 90s.
  14. WTAE-TV 4 Action News, 1985 Full 11pm newscast with Paul Long and Don Cannon. Nice cut of Hello News at the close, followed by two bumpers.
  15. 4/23/1979 WGN-TV Night Beat, back half Close starts around 12:00 in.
  16. Talk shows are cheap, much cheaper than a mon-fri. If any soap returns it would be on a weekly or twice weekly basis and most likely stream oriented. The most likely scenarios would be either a hard or soft reboot so the PP era can be forgotten about. The one thing going for the shows is brand/ip familiarity.
