  1. Hopefully, CBS will stand their ground and not give in to pressure from the commie-left who hate law enforcement and the orange man. The left forgets that people DID vote for this, so demonizing half of America-- yeah, gotcha.
  2. Nothing CBS has done has worked so far. A right slant would differentiate itself from the competitors. If it doesn't work, then back to the drawing board. What is the left afraid of? They still have many outlets for their spin.
  3. https://deadline.com/2024/01/paramount-global-byron-allen-offer-1235809354/ the two parties have been pretty chummy as of late.
  4. I bet WPXI will try to air it at 3pm. JJ used to always win its timeslot against 2 and 4. Even beating Oprah, of course the Pittsburgh market is older and quirky. GMA consistently beats Today and Guiding Light got consistently strong ratings until the end.
  5. WPXI People Puzzler replaces Ring Nation at 1:30 and Drew Barrymore replaces Rachael Ray at 2.
  6. Just discovered KDKA has a 2.5 now- Catchy Comedy. Movies! is now on sister station WPKD 19.4 replacing the Dabl duplicate which replaced Circle.
  7. WPNT 22 still seems like the ultimate outcome for the CW. On the AVS forum someone claimed they were told at the station last week that they were switching over.
  8. WPKD'S interim primetime seems to be a fifth and sixth run of Family Fued at 8 followed by an hour of Friends at 9.
  9. Days infamously films 8-10 months ahead so the other soaps will be affected a lot sooner than days will.
  10. I like the abc tweaks, makes it a little bolder. Hate the miniscule cbs eye. The peacock doesn't look right without the white. I liked their 1980 peacock the best with the tail feather and two feathers for each color.
  11. https://www.The Other Site.com/2022/12/07/nbc-new-peacock-logo/ NBC Updates the Peacock. Removes white border and changes font. Peacock beak extended. Like ABC a couple uears aho, the tweaks are made with mobile devices in mind.
  12. The network stations should pull the 10/9 newscasts off the Fox stations. Let the Fox stations invest in their own news departments or resort to old Coach reruns.
  13. This article seems to think that it's practically a done deal.. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/with-nbc-near-certain-to-cut-primetime-prepare-for-a-10-p-m-news/
  14. I admit I was wrong, I really like this new arrangement. It has more of a sense of urgency than the original, the "bed" portion is also well done.
  15. Where's Kate snow? I thought she was anchoring. Nvrmnd. I see it's mainly the west coast affiliates. We east coasters get these two randos instead.
  16. Too bad the cbs theme is pretty vacant sounding compared to the other two. So boring sounding compared to the other two. The best version was the bombastic arrangement during the later Rather years, that was pretty pretty good. Same across the board, local TV is so homogenized-- more than ever.
  17. They're so desperate in making Peacock successful that they're willing to sacrifice the network in the process.
  18. Since tonight and late night are both taped they should have an 11pm and 11:35 feed and let the stations choose. On CBS y&r has the 11am (12et) and 12:30pm feeds.
  19. CBSEN will fail forever opposite the other two, they really should move the newscast earlier to 5:30 or even 4:30. They should also consider adopting a more tabloid "Inside Edition" format in contrast to the other traditional newscast. If it bleeds, it leads. Worked wonders on the local level with Miami's WSVN. If all that fails just make it a 10-15 minute insert that can be placed into the local news blocks whenever and call it a day.
  20. Well, it's true she was forced out to make room for "next year's model." Luckilly NBC was able to give her some projects before Dateline NBC really took off.
  21. ...and that was a couple of decades ago. Irrelevant. Well viewership is a losing battle that they'll never win. It's a streaming world whether you like it or not, the networks need adapt so they don't get left behind. Well those Fox affiliates would have to figure something else or actually start a news division or "news central" it with their ownership group.
  22. No way will SNL move up an hour but I don't see why the tonight show wouldn't, and get a 35 minute jump on cbs and abc.
  23. With all due respect, if they wanted a smaller cast and a tighter script they might as well go once a week. The appeal for me has always been multiple plots at once with characters rotating between front and back burner status. Twice or thrice a week is fine, but then that slippery slope will lead to season breaks. If you have Long breaks then it's a telenovella not a traditional soap.
  24. https://www.pbrtv.com/holden-returning-to-cleveland-roots/ WPXI reporter Mike Holden returning to WEWS in Cleveland where he was an intern. His family still resides around Cleveland with his father very ill.
  25. https://www.pbrtv.com/powers-coming-to-wtae-tv/ WTAE-TV (4) announced Tuesday the appointment of Kristen Powers as co-anchor of the 11:00 p.m. weeknight newscast along side Mike Clark. Powers comes to Pittsburgh from Washington, D.C. where she has worked at Sinclair owned WJLA-TV (7). In addition to Washington, Powers has also worked at stations in California. She has a master’s in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Syracuse University. She earned her bachelor’s at Marquette University in her hometown – Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Powers says she’s admired Pittsburgh for years and is looking forward to calling the area home. She is also looking forward to getting involved with local charities. She will be on the air beginning in late June.
