Pretty much correct - Walls will be doing weekday mornings in Charlotte. I believe Walls was mostly weekend evenings and a fill-in for other slots where the meteorologist wasn't able to make it. Having 5 meteorologists at the station likely made for slim chances of any promotion.

I don't recall the last time this occurred, but I can affirm that this is happening today now that Norah's on for Saturday - something like a "special Saturday edition of the CBS Evening News" She also basically confirmed that she will not be anchoring on Sunday, as she said "we'll see you back on Monday." We'll see who's anchoring tomorrow. (Image from today's newscast).

For those not yet in the know: And Norah might (just speculation) do the Sunday newscast too, given the current climate. This follows what her competitors did the previous weekend.

Thought it'd be best to create a thread for KTTV for developments to be centralized. Recent developments at KTTV: - In March 2019, KTTV shifted anchors in their lineup, with Elex Michaelson moving to nights with Christine Devine, swapping with Dan Cohen, who moved to Good Day LA. GDLA was also expanded to 4AM. - In late-June 2019, Bill Lamb was named VP/GM of the station, succeeding Bob Cook, who left to head distribution for FTS - In August 2019, ND Kris Knutsen was fired. - In December 2019, Erica Hill-Rodriguez was named the new ND. - In early-2020, the station added weekday 6-6:30PM newscasts and an additional 7-7:30PM special newscast dedicated to the pandemic. (temporary? permanent? seemingly up for debate) Since August 2019, those who've left/no longer affiliated or possibly become freelance, include Matt Johnson (reporter), Megan Colarossi (anchor), Leah Uko (reporter), and Seth Lemon (reporter). In the same time frame, Koco McAboy (reporter) has joined. [all sourced from station website] May 26, 2020: FTVLive reports Julie Chang (entertainment anchor) is out and, though her social media still mentions Fox 11, her bio is officially gone from the website. She was with the station since 2012. He also mentions that his sources have informed him that the station is looking to cut more talent as their contracts end. Wouldn't surprise me given the expectation of layoffs in local TV with the pandemic wreaking havoc, and we've also seen many high-profile cuts in the past like Lucey, Barberie, Sansone, Breckenridge, etc., so what surprises will come next?

Couldn't find any articles about this, but found a tweet about it: Tony Lopez of KOVR, CBS13 in Sacramento (back to an O&O!), will be anchoring the CBS Weekend News this Saturday.

Some updates from the last week: Jackie Ward, formerly of KPIX, joined KNTV. Her departure marks the fourth exit in less than a year from KPIX after the departure of three prominent faces all in September 2019. Speaking of KPIX, if it's to be believed that a further exodus could potentially happen this fall (per Rich Lieberman), it's likely there will continue to be a detachment (read: further sinking ratings) between the viewer and the revolving door of faces of the station. There was a new chief meteorologist hire in Paul Heggen from WNCN in February and a morning/noon anchor hire in Len Kiese from WFTV in March, but we'll see if KPIX will promote from within to fill in any holes and/or what new hires will come about from their slowly shrinking staff. Any thoughts on KPIX's future? Reena Roy, reporter at WCBS, is moving up from local news. Maybeeee another potential News Nation hire? I also caught wind of a KXAS producer (Emily Allen) leaving for Florida, so talk of Rudabeh being an anchor for a possible Miami bureau for NN had me thinking.....but no, that's too much lol Mazie Rae Vincent, sports at WJFW, has left the station. Annie Schroeder, reporter at WVIR, is headed for WSLS in June. But this happened pretty much after Friday: Chris McKinnon, anchor at WBZ, is out. Station bio is gone, social media handles were all changed, and there was no send off. He's been the weekday morning anchor since 2015 and I thought he and co-anchor Kate Merrill had good rapport, so this is sad

Portland, Oregon's KOIN 6 anchor Jeff Gianola will take over this weekend. --- Also, a bit about the locations conundrum- after watching CBS's weekend newscasts from KIRO and WTTV, I noticed that these locations seemed to play a small part in their newscasts. For example (just to name a few), KIRO's newscasts included a short segment on Seattle being the former epicenter of the virus in the US and how it had progressed thus far, and WTTV's newscasts included a short segment on Eli Lilly and its pharmaceutical developments for the virus. I don't know if these are just consequential of the fact that newscasts were being broadcast from there or if these stations were chosen to broadcast, with the desire to emphasize these developments in the national newscast.
