Have they also hired a Spanish-language news team for the Telemundo expansion?

They have a big team already don’t expect changes to that. At WKTB they’ve been silent toward viewers on this. I expect them to sit around in the old building for a few weeks until the technical aspect of the move can be completed. And set rehearsals.

The huge ad for an AC company on the weather desk? Awful!

It’s an LED so it can change.

Not a big fan of the tiny anchor desk or the sponsored weather center. Other than that, it looks really good.

It’s an led weather desk with the ad so it could be changed

Didn’t ABC see erosion across the whole day part with the cancellation of AMC and OLTL? I think it’s a lot like NBC putting Megan Kelly on at 9. It pulled downed the the fourth hour’s numbers. Just like Jay Leno at 10 p.m.

yep. Because Today’s Take was doing good there was nothing wrong with it. Tamron, Al, Shanelle.

Yeah, some of us who are in the know (and some more than others), are aware of delays and tweaks, etc., but the new look has not been abandoned. I've been seeing more and more trickle out, in my home market, but most of it is not worthy of a mention.

I’m seeing it here at channel 11. Lots of graphics and red weather graphics for severe weather.

The desk design is different, and there's a lot of "industrial" framing in various areas of the new set. Other than that, it's no different from the other TEGNA stations that received the Jack Morton/PDG/blackwalnut/Joe Lamberta design.

    Ofc it’s a set in a box.

They’ve moved to the temp set, located in the station’s main conference room. Looks a bit dated, but not awful. One of the main anchors said in a Facebook Live that it will be 3 months until the new set is ready. And that’s even with them dismantling the old weather center (that hadn’t been seen on air in ages) and other areas of the studio ahead of time to speed things up. Apparently in the new set there will be “screens everywhere” with “lots of walking around.” Interested to see what Sinclair has cooked up. These folks deserve a nice set after hanging on to the old one for almost 2 decades.

There old weather center is almost as old as their News department. It came in 1995, first as a tiny corner In there original rotating set. Then when that set was closed up in 2003 to get a facelift they didn’t get rid of the weather center and it never was completely redone it was a refreshed. The current weather center look has had a significant amount of updates since its 2004 refresh as the rest of the set was completely renovated was but the structural barebones of that weather center from 1995, still existed and still do today so hopefully this is a complete makeover torn down and rebuilt bare.

Come to think of it, did KNBC ever officially replace Daniella Guzman after all these months?

Not really Michelle QANON Valles is strong but I think Adrian and Daniella chemistry was great. Lynette could be great for them. Give Michelle 11am with Brownlee.

I wonder what happened to her to leave WNYW and RETIRE (major), she hasn't been at the station too long and she's not old at all (59 years old).

Her other experience plus sometime at MSNBC (first black on air on the first day), don’t know she she’d leave the job though.

  9. Quick question still kinda shadow to the business. But I’m noticing Elex (5pm, 6pm, 10pm, Marla (when she had a noon newscast) of there respective newscast would introduce themselves or say their first before there co-anchors would say there names and it’s daily they don’t the co-anchor the next day introduce themselves or should I say it they don’t  alternate. It’s kinda something I’ve noticed about the market in General other markets both anchor will introduce themselves first one day the other the next day.

WSB-TV been Action News for 50 years or close to it.  WXIA has been 11Alive for 4+ decades  WGCL/WANF still has their work cut out for them.

WAGA if Fox didn’t make them adopt the mandate they would’ve keep Eyewitness News. I’m some renanas they still kinda act like it sometimes. I wish FOX would give them permission to bring it back. Since they’ve  de-emphasize the Boxkite look.

  11. It’s really nice I hope they don’t always modify it like the previous set. The last set the first upgrades were fine to look like WNBC also the weather set update was fine. But besides that the old set was updated out of commission to where the set was good anymore. I hope it isn’t that way this time.
