Would savannah have to move to dc or will she be booking lots of Amtrak points

I mean if George can do it she can too. He traveled back and fourth. For GMA and This Week. Ofc when he became breaking news anchor he moved the shotw to New York and split anchor roles with Martha doing it every other week. But she probably won’t get a breaking news role as that will be kept for Lester Holt while he stays hoe long he wants.

I love Cindy on weekends against Pat Battle and Michelle Charlesworth. I dont necessarily think a 9am newscast is the best thing for WCBS, but I think the most sensible option would be to have Cindy do 9 AM and Noon, to relieve some of the hours off of Chris and Mary (working pre 4am to about 1pm).

They also do the 7am streaming yes Cindy could do 9am and noon. She very peaceful feel she has been unused.

I do like the corporate, polished look of the WCBS news.  I like Maurice Dubois and Kristine Johnson together.    I find it very professional.

I like WABC Eyewitness News too,  but I find the blue lower third a little too big.   I prefer the Chicago ABC 7 look.  Thinner and sleeker.

One thing that bugs me from the WNBC News is the see through table.   A desk would be nicer.   I am not a fan of seeing the anchors' knees when they are sitting.

Why did WNBC do that was that a pandemic decision.

Maybe not a demotion, but maybe a weekend anchor for NN

He was on ABC overnight before the evening gig on PIX

He probably should’ve stayed with ABC, who knew they would d him like that. What’s worse is that when he rejoined they beat FOX 5 and NBC4 they even brought a truck to brag about it.

Wasn't there a story about Dan Rather being on vacation when the Oklahoma City bombing took place and Connie Chung anchored CBS coverage herself initially (though the implication was when Dan got to Oklahoma City, he started anonymously bad-mouthing her; which set the stage for Connie to get the boot from CBS about a month later)

They really scapegoated her if that’s true.

mre29 is right. One word describes Nexstar’s big three via Tribune...HERITAGE.

And I agree w/ TheRolyPoly, said big three (and others?) should keep their non-network brands and not have “CW” or whatever it will become overpower them.

WPIX tried CW11 it felt weird WB11 even sounded better even though the PIX brand hasn’t been around since 2007-08.

Pat Harvey has been solo-anchoring at KCBS for a long time.  Marc Brown at KABC too, at least the last I looked.  Seems to be the way of things I guess.

They both have experience been there a long time they can do it alone.

So- the former owners changed the call letters/ branding two decades ago- and now within 5 decades on the air- it changed it call letters.

Wasn't Erik Schrader responsible for Cleveland 19?  He should stop doing branding names for 4th place CBS affiliates.

That Cleveland 19 News brand suck. He really should stop hopefully there still include the CBS46 as the general brand.

That could easily be used on some non-O&Os. (especially WDJT in Milwaukee/Green Bay; as they're the only Weigel owned station to use the current O&O GFX)

That means WJZ won’t have to ditch there WJZ branding KYW voiceover Eyewitness News, reporters can still say it after live shots, and it still can be used simultaneously.

The temporary set is in a conference room. I don’t see it being kept around to be used by Telemundo Austin. Plus, they only have one control room so there’s no way they could do 2 shows live at the same time.

Hmm and Sinclair wouldn’t be interested in investing either, ahh. Telemundo Austin isn’t first place anyways Univision 62 leads the way.

First look at the temp set. I certainly hope it’s not done yet. Pretty bland.

Hopefully they update it so it could become a home for Telemundo Austin. The temporary set. So many English non-nbc O&O stations give up there temporary sets for Telemundo partners.

Saw this when searching for WKTB (Atlanta Telemundo). Given that we hear WGCL's temporary set is to be their permanent set in due course could this mean they are moving into 14th Street with WGCL?

Yes they will be moving according to The Other Site to the temporary set which will be permanent.

Also it's confirmed the new music remix is by AntFood, the same people who designed the new CBS Mnemonic. No more Man Made Music.

I like the virtual newsroom looks in the corner. The dark tones give it some versatility. The wooden tones make me think there in a wooden set so did the loop of the newsroom.

Did you also criticize David Muir when he wasn’t there the last time ABC used the old “World News” name and theme?

David Muir ratings are nearly double or triple Norah’s ratings.

It’s a bit ironic that NBC is the first traditional “Big Three” network that is rumored to want to do this. Ed Ansin must be smiling from the Great Beyond and thinking, “I told you so.”

This move would make sense for both sides. The networks see streaming as their most important commodity, while the affiliates view local news in the same regard due to the ad revenue. The networks can focus on their OTT platforms, while the local affiliates can focus on pumping out more local content.

Ed Andik might have the last laugh.

I'm aware of that (that happens in other markets as well) however, I put it there because many of the same reporters are used at both stations. This is Sinclair we are talking about so the separate newscast can go away at any time.

I’ll probably my happen here in Raleigh too WRAL/WRAZ.

These East Coast/Midwest NBC Stations already have 10 PM newscasts on other Networks.

WXIA for MyNetwork Affiliate WATL (Atlanta) [TEGNA]
WFLA for MyNetwork Affiliate WTTA (Tampa) [Nexstar]

WRAL for Fox Affiliate WRAZ (Raleigh) [Capital]

WAVY-TV for Fox Affiliate WVBT (Hampton Roads) [Nexstar]

WICU for CW Affiliate WSEE dot 2 (Erie) [Lilly]

WESH for CW Affiliate WKCF (Orlando) [Hearst]

WBAL-TV for MeTV subchannel (Baltimore) [Hearst]

WPXI for Fox Affiliate WPGH -TV (Pittsburgh) [Cox/Sinclair]

WOAI-TV for Fox Affiliate KABB-TV (San Antonio) [Sinclair]

KSHB for Independent KMCI-TV (Kansas City) [Scripps]

WWBT for Fox Affiliate WRLH (Richmond) [Gray/Sinclair]

KXAN for CW Affiliate KNVA (Austin) [Nexstar]

WPTV for Fox Affiliate WFLX (West Palm Beach) [Scripps]

WXII for CW Affiliate WCWG (Greensboro) [Hearst]

KFOR for Independent KAUT-TV (Oklahoma City) [Nexstar]

WGBA for Independent WACY-TV (Green Bay) [Scripps]

WTOV for Fox Subchannel WTOV dot 2 {FOX 9} (Wheeling) [Sinclair]

WLWT for MeTV subchannel (Cincinnati) [Hearst]

WGAL for MeTV Subchannel (Harrisburg) [Hearst]

There are probably more so let me know what I missed. Bottom line is that these stations have a decision to make if NBC goes through with this.

Fox isn’t going to allow cross simulcast newscast so WRAL will have an affiliate change basically every FOX station might have to be cancelled or be in their own.

When Telemundo Chicago moved to the NBC Tower in 2003, the space was split in half with WMAQ (newsroom & set) on one side and WSNS (newsroom & set) on the other. NBC is doing (essentially) the same thing with WNBC & WNJU.

To a degree yes however 3B is being split to two studio 3B-1 and 3B-2 I forget the square feet for 3B studio all together in New York. Furthermore, they will share a newsroom not sure on the same floor. But no this isn’t essentially what NBC is doing like what they did in Chicago they scrapped that plan.

Studio B is 4,000 square feet, which could be made manageable by splitting it in two like NBC is doing in NY with 3B right now, but it's currently listed as rented, and then you lose that space for smaller shows that might not need 10,000 sq. ft.

They're probably going to be stuck in that corner of the newsroom until NBC shells out some serious cash on finding new studio space in the building, or completely gut the newsroom and turn it into a studio, moving the newsroom elsewhere.

Telemundo Chicago’s set is still relatively new. I give them maybe a couple more years before it’s time. There last set was 2014 2 years from now it will be 2024 there current set is from 2014 (wow it’s already been 10 years time goes by fast). I think NBC should replicate what there doing in New York or I think they could do two sets on both sides of the newsroom like MSNBC did. Especially with 10,000 which is more than enough to fit a newsroom but factor in there’s a second news department. The 4,000 Sq feet could be NBC Sports Chicago.

    Nexstar’s KRON (MyNetwork Affiliate)

KRON becomes an O&O filling that last hole in San Francisco. Same thing in NY, LA, Chicago, Houston, Dallas. I’m having a heart attack over this quiet honestly.

What is there to be gained from yanking the affiliations off of WCIU, WPSG, KBCW, WCCB or WISH?

What is the return on investment for alienating the massive groups that own those stations right off the bat?

What benefits stations like KRON, WGN, WPHL, WJZY and WTTV that already have established brands (and in the case of WGN and WTTV, willingly gave up the CW for their own self-interests) to disrupt their programming with CW fare?

I think they’ll keep there affiliations by moving CW to a sub-channel or buying a LPTV. They will be fine. We’re not gonna have a 1995 that would cripple Nexstar and ruin all the affiliate relations they have. Especially if the audience CW is targeting gets boomers.
