I believe I had her speak at a class when I went to Columbia College years ago. Always on top of things in the morning. Any rumors/speculation on her replacement yet? Will ABC7 hire from the outside? Or will Diane Pathieu get it, since she seems to be the primary fill-in already?

Both of the station's top anchors doing solo evening shifts this weekend-- Rob Elgas yesterday & now Cheryl Burton this evening. This is certainly a change for ABC7. Lately, when Karen has been off, it has either been Mark or Liz. Wonder what the rationale is for this. Doesn't the new weekend anchor/weekday reporter start this coming week

Which weekend shift? Is he taking the morning news spot & Mark is moving to evenings? Or is he moving right into the evening spot? It is not specific.

Was watching the 4pm news today & ABC7 debuted a new reporter, Jasmine Minor. According to Adweek.com, she comes from Indy & it says she is going to be the race & culture reporter. It also said she was an anchor there too. Wonder what that means for the open weekend anchor spot.

They finished out the week with Mark on mornings, Jaisol & Phil on the afternoon/evening newscasts. Be interesting to see what the weekend will look like. Jaisol has been on since Tuesday & Mark did all the M-F morning news.

That would make Channel 7 really thin in male fill-in anchors should Mark Rivera leave at some point. Not really sure why they are taking so much time to move him to weekend nights. It just seems like a logical progression.

It was the same arrangement (pretty much) this past weekend too. Mark as with Karen, Greg & Dionne on the evening newscasts & Christian was with Jaisol & Samantha in the morning. Seems like it could work.

Mark Rivera solo filled in for Karen Jordan, both nights, this past weekend. Thoughts on whether they might be considering him to move up to weekend nights (to take Ravi's old spot) like they recently did with Greg Dutra being promoted to Phil's spot.

Interesting to see Ravi working the late news tonight after the Oscars. Good to see that ABC7 is recognizing Ravi's contributions over the years by (officially) making him a part of the 10pm team.

It really would be a shame if they pass Ravi and Rob (for that matter) over for the top spot & bring someone in from the outside. I think they are both more than capable of handling it, and I believe it has been proven. I hope the posting is more a formality than anything else, like what was said previous. I think they should make Ravi and Rob #1 & #2 on weeknights, in whatever newscast slots they want to give them. Make Mark (and maybe even Terrell) the primary fill-ins, and hire somebody new for the weekends who could also do it. Stop "beating around the bush," if you will. And while they are at it, they should (permanently) move Larry Mowry to the 10pm newscast & reassign Cheryl Scott somewhere else. Lately, whether she has been off or filling in on GMA, we have seen more of Larry at 10pm than her. Heck, early last week, it was Greg and Phil doing the weeknight newscasts. Larry, in my opinion, is much more professional and a lot more knowledgeable. Again, my opinion only.
