In a weird turn of events, KUSI became a CW affiliate tonight. However, I'm assuming KFMB didn't get the memo because they are also airing CW programming too. Strange that they became a CW affiliate the same night that the Tegna deal (unfortunately) went through

I guess they're ending it early instead of waiting until September just like every other year. They launched this updated bug with their 4pm news today even though the switch hasn't happened yet. Real creative logo here... /s

Obviously this was bound to happen eventually but... The CW **might** be on the move in San Diego as soon as next Monday. Spectrum and Zap2It (Gracenote) listings show CW programming airing on KUSI, with KFMB-DT2 moving MNTV programming to 7-9pm, moving their 10pm news an hour earlier. However, TitanTV listings don't seem to agree, there hasn't been an official announcement yet, and it's also only March (Nexstar usually does the switches in September, which is also when KFMB's CW contract officially expires). It would be weird for multiple schedule providers to make a mistake like this though, so I doubt they're incorrect

That was the production track they used for that newscast under the previous look. They played the correct music with this open today

KFMB debuted today at 3:30. "News 8" returns yet again...

More changes to the Weekend News today: Today's edition was anchored from the regular Evening News set instead of the other set they had been using. Wonder if this will be permanent or not... They've also changed the L3s that appear during stories to match the ones used by the Evening News, although slightly modified to appear to the right of the logo bug at the bottom (the logo at the top left is also a new addition):

Haven't been able to find if these have been mentioned online before - sometime in late April, KGTV modified their opens, making them all talent opens. Most of their opens follow this template, with the morning opens continuing to use a theme from the original 2019 Scripps music package KGTV open update 2025.mov
