  1. One thing i noticed is that the colors seem closer to the pre-2023 colors rather than the 2023- colors, especially the purple. The music also doesn't sound too different from the current version but it sounds filtered and I'm wondering if the intention was to give it a sound similar to the actual physical chimes (I'm reminded particularly of the 1953 chimes) The animation itself isn't that remarkable, we're back to a glass Peacock unfolding on a black background like '86 (albeit the animation is very different and i cant recall them doing this type of animation before except maybe during the Chime In era? But even that was different)...I can't tell if all these retroish ideas are purposeful, but given that the new Peacock font is a good bit similar to Futura (look at the Cs and K) I'd say this could be a purposeful, if lacking, callback
  2. Looks nice, but also kind of looks bland and a bit cheap compared to the last 2 versions. I am wondering if they'll have a more substantial change coming up, what with Peacock having rebranded almost 40 years to the day of the 60th Anniversary special where NBC started their rebrand and the big C having changed NBC to be in line with Peacock a couple of times before (maybe the day of their 100th anniversary?), and if this is just temporary. It isn't bad if it isn't though.
  3. Can't say I've noticed this...I know he stopped caring about his appearance after COVID but I don't think his quality has much. Not to mention channel 7 doesn't seem like somewhere someone could improv into a package or a live report much, maybe into say weather or sports but that's supposed to be conversational. Everything's run pretty tight and if Bill really "meandered on" then it'd be fairly noticeable.
  4. I remember when F@4 launched...I was only 6, and the idea of a 4p newscast was shocking...of course, now everyone seems to be getting them (except channel 2, who seem stuck on courtroom shows that just make everyone seem like jerks)
  5. Oddly enough--and I don't know if this is related but I'm assuming not--but the former flagship of the network, now WHSQ in New York, is currently off the air.
  6. The old one looks leaps and bounds better to me even if it looks amateurish...also, that's not even the current La-Z-Boy logo, and the way they've squashed it looks awkward
  7. Are you sure we haven't time traveled to the mid-2000s?? That logo and that strap!
  8. Kinda like those extremely low-quality "CBS Deals" segments on CBS's O&Os?
  9. Were they ok at 4?
