Numbers are bad enough that upper management is thinking plan-b.

They are stuck with the talent so rumor upstairs is that maybe the newscast needs new leadership. Getting hard to sell zeroes.

People who work on the show are quietly expressing concern over current EP.

So it won't be a shock.

Won't be a shock indeed. That...uh...show very much needs a new EP, and probably a great one, if it will give that...um...show some great ratings and some good competition. All we need to do is wait for some news on the new guy (or gal, maybe) to whip this...well...show into shape. Just wait and see.

So now that they've eliminated the talent and the set as reasons the ratings are down, will they finally replace the upper management if the new EP can't fix the show?

WFLD came in 4th in 2010 in regards to ad revenue brought in (recovered), so as long as they can make some money, the corporate people are apparently satisfied. Ratings are not a factor, only money made is. That's the only reasoning I can think of as to how WFLD management has remained in place and they get to do whatever they want (build a new set, fire people left and right, etc...) no questions asked.

 

GDC is a disaster that no one can fix. They would need to clean house (top to bottom) and start over.
