Neilium 0
Does anyone have good examples of how local news stations are using social media in their newscasts? How do they use Facebook, Twitter or Google+ to interact with their audience. If anyone has any screen grabs or videos that would be helpful. Even simple things like using a twitter handle on a lower 3rd or full screen graphics. Thanks! trev57 46
WITI uses the "Facebook Friend of the Day" every morning on FOX 6 WakeUp. They randomly choose one of their Facebook friends, put up their profile pic on air, and read some of their interests, hobbies, etc. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/11515-social-media-local-news/#findComment-68985 Share on other sites

Weeters 1916
WTMJ seems to like to make Twitter graphics but never does anything consistant when it comes to them. Here's the one screencap I have (though it's not really viewer interaction). EDIT: and one from WISN... Bucc 4
On News10 in the Morning, the WTEN anchors post questions on their facebook pages (and the main page) and as they go to the first break each half hour they read some comments. WXmanTim 88
During out 5PM we usually put up a "tweet/facebook" fullscreen going into break. Usually has something to do with the previous story/interview that we aired. Our web editors usually already have a topic posted about whatever that segment is to begin culling feedback.
