SFTV replied to AKA's topic in General TV
So is WBFS/WFOR the only duopoly to keep CW in the group? -
She posted on Facebook she is on medical leave and receiving treatment.

KPIX will soon be shifting all their evening shows away from the studio onto the Virtual Set https://www.instagram.com/reel/C-stohzPWVx/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

The Virtual Weather Studio got a redesign with a brown wooden tone look similar to its CBS News 24/7 10am stream The previous look was more of a vacant office floor

KSWB’s Kathleen Bade final broadcast is tonight

Didn’t want to make a new thread unless it’s official, KPIX this week has been using the “morning/sports” set on the other side of the studio for all of its newscasts except for its Noon newscast which is done in the newsroom. not sure if they are doing studio maintenance or possible speculation of getting KCAL’d with the new mandate set. the shots are so tight so I’m not sure if they moved the “set” next door where the virtual weather set is currently located. mind you, PIX never got the whole makeover mandate look. In 2020 they refreshed its 2012 look by getting the 2016 KCBS anchor desk, updated the duratrans walls, got rid of the traffic center in place of a couch set that never got much airtime which was converted into a secondary set now used in the mornings and sports. They kept the framing from its 2012 Jack Morton design look based from WBBM’s 2008 street side studio. I guess we will see……

That’s what I’m saying! It worked with KNSD because the green screen literally covered half the weather center when it was not visible in shots. Once in a while they would forget and you would see it in closing shots WBBM is twice bigger than what KNSD had when they had a street side studio. The cameras were literally in front of the desk and you would have to duck under to get to the weather center.

Julie Haener signs off after 27 years at KTVU

I couldn’t agree more. KGO should’ve kept the larger studio and gave KRON the smaller studio. But they must’ve wanted to lease out the bigger studio to KRON to cash in the rent. https://bowmanrodgersdesign.com/portfolio/kgo-tv-7-live/ so nice to see the old nostalgia of 7Live Studio before it was dismantled to make room for KRON.

KUSI is currently going thru a major overhaul now that they are merging with FOX5. They have been on a temporary set since January using FOX5’s old desk used from 2014-2018.

Yep I called it! The wooden studs in the wall totally gave it away.

Just saw the Instagram Reel. The framing elements is giving KCAL.

I’m going to miss the “California Look.” KABC was polished and bright, KFSN got the discount look since the font styles never matched, then later adopted the KGO “LIVE” bug by making it bigger than KABC’s version. KGO had the best color execution keeping it neutral (Royal Blue, Grey and Black) it was simple package that I wished that rolled out to the station group, it was pretty much nothing extravagant, easy to read and just a plain wallpaper with diagonal lines that would revolve looking like a cash register belt, no flashy animations and sweeping effects that we see now with all these boxes and large lower thirds that they adapted from WPVI and WABC. the weather graphics varied with KABC, KGO and KFSN, they could’ve done better but I do like the new weather graphics now that they are using.

THIS!!! I remember randomly discovering this site and it felt like a safe space and knowing that there are so many people around the country and world who geek and nerd out on TV news. This site continues to Thrive and Grow!

Loving the Palm Trees! Normally used to trees if it’s for windy forecasts. Very unique and local.

Betty Yu out at KPIX. FTV Live speculating she’s going to KTVU Then again she has ties with the Peacock since she did work at WTVJ, I’m guessing she might go to NBC Bay Area? we shall see https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2024/4/1/crossing-the-bay-in-san-francisco

That certain Bay Area blogger is reporting beloved KGO Consumer Reporter 7 On Your Side that Michael Finney is out after 33 years with ABC7
-
KPIX had that color scheme on its Noon and 3pm newscast for a few days when it first got the graphics. It was to my assumption that was a transition from mornings (orange) to evenings (blue)

KGO was down with gremlins taking over the station all morning simulcasting KABC until 6:45 this morning. Im suprised with an outage like that, they couldn’t even get anything running not even a newsroom cam.

Not even a week in with the new look and they changed the X handle. However, it’s wrong it was correct when they launched.

MY 53 (KMSG, Fresno) using unlicensed music?
SFTV replied to newsn8te's topic in News Music & Voiceovers
I mean GDLA always plays music during the weather reports but at least there is someone talking over it -
KGO has flipped to the new look right now at 11am and brought back the main opening theme. during 2020-2024 they have been using the Breaking News / COVID theme
