TheSans is more of a riff on Meta, I've always thought. But all three look like easily discernible, distinct fonts to me. That said, I work with typography regularly enough to tell those types of fonts apart, whereas most regular people mistake Arial for Helvetica. There's a great article that sums up the history of subway signage and the frequently muddled font history. Now if you want extremely similar fonts, try comparing Myriad to Frutiger.
