Sun News Network fakes a citizenship ceremony

So apparently, its been exposed that Canada's Sun News Network, instead of covering a citizenship ceremony in Toronto in honor of "Citizenship Week" events (they only really wanted to show the oaths), they arranged with Citizenship and Immigration Canada to have 10 people reaffirm their oaths live on-air.

However, firstly, the broadcast suggested that they were taking their oaths for the first time, and apparently after 7 of them backed out of the appearance, they allegedly brought in existing employees of Citizenship and Immigration Canada. And well, things went downhill from there

have some more information on this. This isn't the first controversy they've been through, however. But meh, Sun News tries too hard to be like a Canadian version of FNC, yet it falls flat. I'm glad its not in my bundles here

To be honest, with the raitings Sun gets, I'm surprised they're still on the air.

It's a low budget opinion channel. The news gathering component of this channel is really just the Sun Media PRINT journalists, who know squat about television.

People may complain about FOX News's editorial slant, but they at least have a decent news gathering staff, and have good production values. Neither of these things Sun News should be able to claim.
