Chicago News Boy 34 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 So the last half hour of fox chicago news at 9, robin robinson and darlene hill anchored the last half hour of the news doing a gang violence segment and let me tell you they make a hell of a duo. Those two reslly fullfill wflds "asking the questions" and get in there and get answers! They would make a great 9pm team.. Maybe its not that robinsons bad afterall she just has never had the "right" co-anchor. With dar bringing her reporting skills to the table and robin her anchoring and long experience, i think they can really climb up on the ratings scale. I am really impressed! Nice move wfld would love to see two skilled african american reporters on at 9pm. And put bob as a reporter because he is not anchor material but could bring alot as well to the table as reporter.
essentials 0 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Don't tell Davlantes. She'll run upstairs to the ( lame duck GM ) Renda and complain. She's been eyeing the 9 since day 1.
24994J 5888 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Better yet...dump Robinson, move Sirott to another role (or out), and pair off Davlantes and Hill at 9. That way you'd have two competent anchors that can catch some younger viewers and can serve as a budget-friendly "fresh start". Freeing up one or both of those big contracts would give them some space to add some depth to the field, too.
Chicago News Boy 34 Posted April 1, 2012 Author Posted April 1, 2012 And put mcpherrin back as sports director
24994J 5888 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 WFLD has hired reporter Lisa Chavarria from KHOU as a general assignment reporter for the 9pm news. The Chicagoan interned at NBC News' Chicago bureau and WGN-TV years ago. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/reporter-lisa-chavarria-joins-wfld-from-khou_b45790
Chicago News Boy 34 Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 They are slowing moving in the right direction.. They still need about 4 more reporters though.
